Not read everybody's response, so maybe it was said. But, if anybody knows this guys club, can they send all his posts to the Club's Handicap Secretary, who can use it as evidence to immediately review his handicap? Also, send it to other golf clubs in his county, just in case he is the type who will happily enter Open competitions and win with ridiculous scores.

Not sure if it's him but someone at Bonnyton won division 4 by net 14 strokes yesterday LOL - safe to say the other division results look much fairer

[QUOTE="SimonC,

I assume this is your scorecard G1z1?[/QUOTE]
Possibly who knows ? I did win my division but what one ? No one knows my actual handicap only what it was at the end of last season and my sig won’t be updated until the last day of this season.
@Swango1980 screen shot this message ? because I’ve done exactly what the man who interviewed me told me to do when I mentioned I was playing better than my handicap and I’ll need to get a few cards in. His exact words were nonsense get in a medal or two and get easy wins and your handicap will come tumbling down ? ? So many tears in this thread I love it ? ?

Surely with WHS, their handicap will sort quickly.

They've either put in 20 rounds over last two years in which case a couple of low scores may move it only a bit but then you'd say 20 rounds is reasonably regular even if you are improving rapidly with practice.

Or they only have a handful in which case it will only take 1 or 2 rounds as counting so the player would drop immediately to a lower handicap on the back of comp wins. I'd be more concerned if they were putting in social rounds keeping their handicap high for comps, otherwise yes you could put more in but it's not really a big deal as sorts itself out quickly and perhaps others should aim to improve more.

You said in post No. 36 that that was your last reply on this thread. Obviously a man of integrity :)

If the guy told you do go and jump off a cliff, would you? I'm guessing you wouldn't :)

Some people are getting far too wound up about all of this
Are they? I doubt anybody is going away stressed about any of it? After all, they don't have to compete with the guy. We're on a forum and so people express opinions, and people have simply expressed their believe that the guy is cheating other members at his club. In reality, they've all probably been quite intrigued by it all, hence why they decided to comment.

G1z1 is also free to play the wind up merchant as well, if that is what makes him happy. I'm sure we have all come across our fair share of trolls on forums :)

And, to be fair, maybe no one at his club are actually wound up either. Probably not now as they've probably rarely seen the guy. And, I don't think his nett score was outrageously low so unlikely to raise any eybrows. Maybe they roll out the red carpet for him, and shed a happy tear when he gives his winning speech after his 20+ handicap shots have gifted him a win on a pretty mediocre day on the golf course (for him).

So what was the actual score? nett 70? nett 65? Is his handicap 24 (off yellows) or 26 (off whites)

Proves my point on the other thread, off the whites when the pressure is on a shot tracking social score means diddly squat.

Welcome to the real sport of golf!

The nett score wasn’t outrageously low, but low enough to win his own division by 16 shots, and to have won the other three divisions as well, two of them by a clear 5 shots.

The OP has the air of someone who thinks himself very clever when he has, in fact, shot himself well and truly in the foot. Having outed himself on a public forum as someone who is happy to cheat fellow members out of their opportunity to compete on a fair and level playing field, by identifying his club he has now identified himself.

He has been given a number of valuable tips on this forum, largely about how to improve and the necessity to submit cards so that he is fair to himself and others. Another word of advice which he would do well to heed is that, despite the huge numbers who play this game, the golfing community is actually very small, especially locally, and word travels fast, both within clubs and between them.

If he continues with his current brash behaviour, especially now that people know who he is and where he plays, he will find his future golfing life will be a very solitary one. Not only that, but should he decide to move to another local club, or even one further afield, he may find himself as welcome as a fart in a lift. Mud sticks.

Tears on this thread? The only ones I see are those of laughter. And when I say laughter I don’t mean with the author of the OP, but at him.

Apologies. I had seen some references about his club / name. Had a quick scan and only saw scores of around Nett 70, which won on countback or by 1 or so shots. I didn't see anything outrageous.

I've not been following all his historic posts, think this is the first thread I have come across him. So, I was going on other member reactions and assumed he was shooting extremely low social rounds (and not submitting), but had yet to submit a whopping low nett score in a comp.

However, if his score was indeed as low as the bit in bold, then I withdraw my comment. I'm sure at least some of his fellow members hate his guts :) . Or, at least they might if they knew the sort of scores he was bragging about in his non-competition rounds.

In spite of some people thinking that golfers are intrinsically more honest etc...you know...because it's golf and it's about honor and integrity etc etc. Golfers are just like everybody else in the world....they are NOT more honest than everybody else. They are just people...with the same amount of honest and cheating people that walk around you every day.....
