Play Your Best Challenge 2012... what's your goal for the season

Haven't broken 80 off the whites in a comp for a while and that's what I'd like to do this year at least once. Tee to green I'm playing well so if I can improve my chipping and hole a few putts it should happen. And if it does I should get a bit of a cut. Certainly don't want to edge up to Cat 3.

My goal this year is definitely consolidation.
Tried it last year and came down another 4 shots so it didn't work!
I'm finding it a little tough playing off 5, I can play to it just not as often as I'd like so finding the consistency to be a steady Cat1 5 handicapper is what I'm looking for.

I want to get back down to the realms of 5.x which is possible though practice time is hard to come by, gaining a little more consistency would be nice. Its a big ask considering I played well last year but only managed a nett drop of 1 shot.

Looking to drop a couple of shots this year. Ideally break the 16 figure and have a handicap of 15. something.

My main goal is to enjoy my golf as reducing my handicap was my all consuming goal last year and kind of spoilt my enjoyment.

Would like to shoot more personal bests or go lower, shot a 74 a couple of times in competition but that form is rare as rocking horse s**t.

There were 3 aims for me at start of the year , win a Medal comp or the gross in a medal , get to 8 & have a look at 7 then

Won the overall in a medal wit a 74 nett 65 .. which was the best gross score on the weekend aswell .. the nett 65 got me down to 8.1 ... after two .1 back for 36pts (css went to 39) & 3 buffers im happy i can play to 8 .. now for step 3 .. get to 7 .. tough ask but il give it a lash ..

Target for the season is to get my H/C down from 13 to 10 got a .3 of a cut last time out and that was with 2 nines on the card so heading in the right direction

My first full season as a member and im hoping to get my handicap down to 15 and break 85 off the competition tees.

Current progress
93 Gross 73 Nett in first comp for no rise/cut and NR in yesterdays comp for a 0.1 rise :(

My target for the season was to get down from 20 to 16. The first few weeks of the season surpassed all expectations and I went from 19.7 to 15.4 in the space of 3 competitions (including an exceptional scoring reduction of 1 shot), so mission accomplished already!

I've had a dip in form since but have set an additional 'bonus' target of getting down to 12 to keep my motivation up and give me something to work towards. Since achieving my initial goal my concentration appears to have taken a hit, so I'm hoping the new target will focus me again. I'd also like to break 80 this year. I've had an 82 which could've been a lot better, so if everything falls into place, I'm confident I can do this. Seeing it in writing suddenly makes it seem a bit too ambitious though!!

I have a few goals, my main goals are for me to break 90 in competition, for this I think I need to treat each shot separately and not look back or forward. :ooo:

I also want to get my handicap down to 15 by the end of Oct this year, so have vowed to practise twice a week at the range, twice at home and minimum of 1 round per week. Also going to be having 1 lesson per month to keep an eye on changes.

Good luck everyone, and have a great knock this weekend

m aim si to break 80, my lowest ever round is 84 so a bit worl to be done. more importantly another aim of mine is to get a prize from golf monthly, any prize; pen, tee, golf ball; anything really!!

My aim for the year was to get from 20 to 14.

I have already knocked 4 shots off and currently adjusting to life with a handicap of 16. I stopped practising as I didn't want to tinker with what I was doing. I forgot everything and shot 94 in the last medal lol.

Been back to the original practice routine and looking forward to a few comps in the next couple of weeks.

Aim is now to try and get into Cat2 territory -12.4

My goals are to play on a regular basis, join a club, get an official handicap under 15, play some of Kent's best courses and get my mates from beginners to players hooked on the game.

So far, joining a club is nearly achieved and I am playing regular now.
