Afternoon all

as you all know one of the big things with Play Your Best was to encourage everyone to set themselves a goal this season and aim to beat it.

The goal doesn't have to be the break 100/90/80/70 that the four PYB guys are aiming for. It could be anything from beating your previous best score (in any format), getting picked for the scratch team, winning a monthly medal or even winning the club championship etc.

Mine goal is to beat my previous best medal score of 74.

The special PYB pledge page is now up and running http://www.golf-monthly.co.uk/pyb20...9863/what-s-your-pyb-challenge-2012-goal.html so head over there and make your goal public (leave a comment at the bottom of the page) and then update us with how you are getting on.

PING and GM will be selecting some of the pledges and rewarding success with prizes and also the chance to play in the Play Your Best finals day at Gainsborough on October 1st which is going to be an awesome day

Good luck and Play Your Best!

My goal is just to play once a week as just had my 2nd daughter today at 9.51am. Got 4 comps to play before end off month. So no practice for me b4 the comp but aim to break 73 and get cut back to 6.4 at least

Very simple for me...get my short game back! It's chronic at the moment, dropping so many stupid shots around the greens. If I can get it back I should be able to lose at least 1 shot off my handicap by the end of the year. Doesn't sound much but that is a 20% reduction for me.

Mine is break 80 off competition tees, been having plenty of lessons and been practising and have so far shot 80 and 81 so its definitley close :) Also wanted to break into the team and hopefully ill be playing for 3rds this year which is exciting.

That is Facebookist :(

My chances of joining Facebook are slightly less than me meeting my challenge of shooting a level par (or better!) round in a competition.

My aim is to drop 3 shots and hit 18 as a minimum, also playing in the knockouts for the first time would like to get through a couple of rounds of that :)

My aims for 2012 are:
1) Become a member of a golf club. (done)
2) Get an official handicap. (Almost done)
3) Get my handicap into single figures by the end of the year. (It will be tough but I'm going give it my best)

Great response already! Keep em coming

Just to let you know we have to approve comments before they appear and as we are about to shut up shop till Tuesday unless I'm feeling keen and get my laptop out over the weekend you wont see them on the live site till then

Boo! I just posted mine!

Would love to get down to 18 but realistically take anything below 20. Also aim to play an average of 1.5 rounds for the year and even with the current bad weather I'm ahead of schedule. Hcp wise had a 0.1 back up but didn't reflect how I'd played or how much I'd improved in just the 2 weeks after my lesson! Hopefully the only way is down, ish!!

To be fit enough to be able to play once a week.
To get back down to 5.........but would love to get to 4.
To start appearing on the podium again.

World peace!

Did you join Brock when they had the new members day in March? I went along to that as well :)

I'd like next to be under 9.0, which means a 0.6 cut, which means shooting 7 under handicap at our place (our CSS is 3 or 4 under par) which means shooting 2 or 3 over gross in a medal without winter rules and soft greens.

Hmmmm....

Might have to do this in baby steps

Otherwise i would like to putt a little bit straighter than my current +/- 35degs off a straight line

Gisajob Mike - I know nothing about being a journalist but like the thought of long weekends!

I barely ever have enough time to go on the course so my goal is to have played 15 rounds by the time I start school again in september, should be reasonably realistic as I have 10 weeks holiday so 1-2 rounds per week :)
