Really struggling with the moment after chopping and changing my swing to the point I don't know how to swing it anymore. I have a lesson tomorrow with a new pro who uses the device and depending how it goes was thinking of buying one for home.

Anyone used one or had any positive experience?

From the adverts I've seen, £450/500 ??

That would buy a lot of lessons using your Pro's device (plus expert advice)

Each to their own ....

Is this it http://www.planeswing.com/

Definitely an Explanar copy and to be if I was using it for chipping I'd be looking for a good short game teaching pro with a decent short game area and having some lessons to sort my technique and then spending hour after hour working on touch, feel and learning how to control spin and trajectory

The guy who developed the planeswing is the co-developer of the explanar. He claims it is the next evolution. Haven't used either personally, but £500 does buy a lot of lessons, IF you find a good teacher.

I'd have one if I could sneak it into the house & hide it from the wife. Have had a couple of goes on an Explanar and it's a revelation. I've got a shallow, too inside backswing. When I went on it the first two feet of backswing felt perfectly natural. Then it felt as if the club was moving vertically upward. If I couldn't have seen the arc I would have sworn that's what I was doing. I was at the range this morning hitting irons badly when I remembered this, tried to simulate that feeling and immediately started to hit it better. Everyone should have a go, it's especially useful for "One Plane" swingers, i.e. people who swing the arms & shoulders on the same plane. Give one a trybif you get the chance, no need to own one, just remember the feeling of a correct swingpath.

As a diy project, could it not be plausible to knock one together Heath Robinson style using a large metal hoop with legs? The club shaft would run against and around the hoop (no pun intended ;)) if you see what I mean.
Can't see why it wouldn't work, you'd still get the feeling of the swingpath as suggested by MIB.
