I recently read a post regarding views on smoking on the course, particularly during TV coverage.

Ok I'm not a smoker and providing they don't leave any litter I'm not to bothered as I grew up in an era where smoking has always been accepted whether it was in the pub, in the work place or at home.

Now to the topic. During tonights PGA Tour TV coverage both Keegan Bradley and Dusin Johnson were filmed spitting on more than one occasion to the point where one of the commentators mentioned it.

Now I'm not a saint however when you see younger players of the standard of Bradley and Johnson spitting on TV it's not good for the image of the game and a very poor example for the younger generation.

They should both be very ashamed of their conduct and hopefully their sponsors will advise that when on the course they should conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.

Absolutely disgusting, unnecessary and not befitting of a pro golfer.Did not see DJ spit, but what was KB doing, half of his flem was going all over him. They need to be reprimanded and reminded of the example they should be setting..

Totally agree, Dave. The course appears to have a good sprinkler system so it doesn't need these morons to keep gobbing at random. There's no need for it( much like the even lower life form known as Premiership footballers). Considering the fuss made over Tiger Woods these two need to be brought to task.

Professionals are ambassadors for the game, any breach of etiquette or disgusting behavour (eg spitting, throwing clubs or bad language etc.) should result in an immediate two stroke penalty. That would soon stop it.

Agreed

Its a bit harsh to just state the PGA it happens in most sports unfortunately. Its just I think sky are a bit more cuter in cutting out the scenes like that, where as the american tv coverage like showing them no matter what.

Keegan Bradley should be fined he must have spat now 50 times. he makes me sick

What spawn_ukuk just said......................... why does he feel the need?
To be honest though, it does look like he suffers from Tourettes Syndrome.

Slime.

My God I hope he doesn't win tonight.................or ever again, really.

great play by keegan congratulations to him for it but he is on a huge world stage and is spitting as part of his pre-shot routine this is disgracful. He is influencing all the junior golfers watching him play and telling them that it is ok to spit out on the course when it really isn't.

I see much much worse things everyday on a daily basis to be worried about sportspeople spitting or throwing a wobbly.

I watched Andrew Coltarts reaction on the KB incident. Bit OTT.
I don't believe for one second, he has never done anything like that in his own career.

Apparently club chucking is OK by the forum

Swearing is taken care of by Westwood's mum

As for Flobber Bradley - well he's just a fekkin' disgrace! His parents should be ashamed, feck the money or the sport - he's a no class tramp! Shame spitting is so typically American.

Someone should @twitter_him and tell him what a knob he is. Any Brits in the crowd should heckle him... or spit in his direction.

What a stupid post!

Abit harsh saying his parents should be ashamed of him. Do you know him personally for you to actually come to that conclusion?
And NOW your encouraging Brits to do the same thing, the very same thing that is obviously bugging you.
Notice this in another post of yours, but why don't you throw a tweet yourself. Or don't real gentlemen do that sort of thing?......................... Talk the talk and walk the walk an all!!................
