Many years ago, around the time David Duvall was playing at his best and was probably Oakley's top ambassador for wrap around shades on the PGA Tour, I bought a set of Oakley Golf Specific Heaters. At the time it cost around £180.

The set included:

1 folding M Frame
2 nose pieces
1 soft case (doubling as a wipe)
1 zip hard case
1 G30 Iridium lens
1 other lense which I can't identify.

The whole thing has lasted well, having owned the kit for probably around 25 years, but the lenses are showing signs of the coatings deteriorating.

I've contacted Oakley and await a reply but I'm not hopeful that they can be replaced. So, I'm looking into alternatives. I know it is possible to source Oakley copies that will fit the M Frame and they aren't half bad!

But I need to identify the unidentified lens so that I can better source a replacement.

Did anyone else buy any of these back in the day and can anyone help me out with the mystery lens?

Of course I am assuming that the two lenses that came with the set, were set as standard.

I have a pair of Flak Jackets that came with black iridium polarised lens and G30 lenses. I only wear them with the G30 lens in. I'm not sure the G30 lens is still named that, but Im sure you can still get M-frame lenses. I only wore M frames when mountain biking :)

Had a reply from Oakley.

As suspected the Heaters and the Golf Specific package has been discontinued.

I'm still pursuing them for the actual names of the lenses which may or may not help when attempting to source "copies" from other sellers.

I have bought from a seller in the USA before called "Galaxylense". They still exist and they sell Heaters and Sweeps. Usually it is possible to give them the name of the Oakley lens model and they can come up with a near alternative. The prices are in comparison very reasonable at just over $13.

The G30 was also called "Iridium", (probably because of the coating). The other, which is a darkish smokey tint, I am still trying to identify.

If I want to add some photos, how do I do it?

I've tried but I'm being told the the jpg files are too big. I have three photos but all of them are under 5MB. Two are less than 4MB.

I have the Oakley Flak Jacket 2.0XL. I've got replacement lenses from a company called Revant that work well. However, they do not do the golf specific lens, which lets in much more light than regular lenses. My golf lenses are a bit scratched now and replacements from Oakley are about £70

@Shanker69 is the replacement for G30 lenses not the Prizm range?

You need to reduce the file size of the pictures to around 0.5mb or under. If your phone does not do this, try emailing the pictures to yourself. That usually does it.

Just tried it and they are still coming out at the same size.

Most forums will take the 3 and 4MB size. It seems this forum doesn't.

A bit inconvenient. Don't know how you would get a photo down to less than 0.5Mb without severely reducing the quality.

It really doesn't to be honest. All the pictures posted on here are around that size, or less, and they are fine.

We don't control this, I guess it helps to load pages quicker and other techie reasons.

Have a watch of this .I very rarely wear sunglasses so would be able to comment.
Seen that one.....they liked the ones they were trying out....but those have been discontinued if I remember correctly. I never wear sunglasses, but the eye people have been trying to get me to wear them for a while now.
