How would you pay someone silly money for a car? So cash is out, paypal is out due to transaction limits, money transfer may be ok, but it is an obscure Danish bank and may not work, as they are in the dark ages. Bank draft is painfully slow, and a bit risky.

Ideas?

Is it someone you know or dont know?

If the former is there a mutual 3rd party who could hold the money? If the latter then an escrow company?

Pay it via a brief and tell the awkward seller he has to foot the bill.

Payment in sterling to a danish bank account in DKK or an account in GBP? What danish bank is it?

You have to take a simple view with transactions of this nature. No payment without the transaction taking place on the spot unless even if it is a known person , from my experience.

You hand them the payment they give you the keys and paperwork.

So obscure Danish Bank is fine if they have the cars etc to give at the same time you do the Bank transfer.

I too would advocate escrow otherwise.

Well, hopefully it all goes smoothly...
Waiting, with bated breath, on seeing a piccie of what you've splashed your cash on...

If I was looking for an old 'un, for my dotage, I'd possibly be looking at 500 SEC's [W126] great car and can be got for sensible money...
