Patrick Moore RIP

Sad, he put enthusiasm and passion into Stargazing, always fascinating to listen to RIP Patrick Moore

I've just got in from work to find this on the news.
A very sad day for all budding astronomers. I got into stargazing when I was a youngster after watching him on the sky at night. I had the good fortune to meet him many years ago and he is a very interesting man with time for everyone he meets. His brother lives near me in Cornwall and I see him regularly in the garage.
RIP Sir Moore and our thoughts are with you family.

I only watched The Sky at night the other day, at the time I remember thinking to myself he must be about 100 now as seems to have been around forever. I record it every month and it wont be the same without him.

89, a very good innings, RIP Sir Patrick

A wonderful man, if a touch eccentric. He helped to enthuse me about the night sky, introduced me to the music of Sibelius with the theme tune to 'The Sky At Night' ('At the castle gate' from Pelleas and Melisande) and was an absolute whizz on the xylophone.
