I played there a long time ago when it was Dinnaton, but don't remember any fences.
It was a long time ago for me . What I do remember is that it was a course of two halves (probably originally a 9 then extended) front nine was open moorland and back nine parkland.

Found it, it was Wrangaton which I understand has now closed

Brora has electric fences around their greens to keep the sheep and cows off.

At a previous club we discussed a local rule for hitting posts/ropes in front of greens to prevent trolley/buggy access but decided it would be difficult to tell if your 200 yard approach shot had hit the rope or post so didn’t proceed. Rub of the green as they say
