Out of 10 how do you rate your.......

About 6 or 7 out of ten for putting for me. One of my better areas usually. I normally average 30-32 putts per round but that's artificially low because I don't hit many greens, so I'm chipping on and putting from inside 6 feet a lot. Oh, and standard left hand overlapping right grip.

I'd be interested to know what rating the likes of Poulter/Westwood/Kaymer/ etc etc would give themselves.
There's a lot of 7's and 8's or more being given to ourselves - would every Tour Pro score 10?

I'm a traditional overlap putter.

I would give myself a 6 and consider myself a reasonable putter. My stats are slightly higher so far this year, but I am reaching more GIR so I am putting from further away.

Had about 4 months of leaving everything short but have started to putt better over the last 3 weeks. My lag putting has returned to its best, and I am reducing the number of 3 putt holes, so quite happy at the moment.

Always find these threads interesting. As Imurg said, if double figure ams are rating themselves as 8/10 what would the pros rate??

I'd say I was a 6/10. Decent from 10feet and in, too often leave myself work to do from 25feet plus.

Traditional Overlap - my pro tried to get me to use the left arm low grip but couldnt click with it.

My weak point seems to be committing to down hill putts one a couple of our trickier greens, i often go for a safe two putt instead of for the hole. id mark mayself 6/10, wont be any higher until i get the putting stats back t to less than 30 per round if hitting GIR's, and if i miss i am aiming for up and down save improvements around the 80% mark.... its coming slowly.

I wondered when this thread would receive a sales pitch ;)

About a month ago I would have rated my putting 2-3, thanks to some effort and the aforementioned device I would now rate it 2-3. Only joking Bob, improvement is definitely there with regards to consitently hitting the putts and the stroke feels better. Shot my best round of the year on Saturday but was still disappointed with the putting, stats tell me that it is improving though.

Not sure what my grip is, but I lay my left index finger down over the fingers on my right hand.

This year so far I'm avg 32/round, 1.91/GIR

I'd put myself right in the middle between garbage and brilliant, so about a 5.

Overall i'm a pretty solid putter. Good from distance and a good holer outer but a little inconsistent on the 5-12 footers which I really should hole more of.

I use an interlock grip.

3 weeks ago I would have said 8 or 9. Now I would say 6 or 7. There is some work to be done that's for sure.

In real golfing terms probably about a 6. In what i as a 11 capper am trying to achieve probably an 8. Do i practice enough, no.
Less than 10ft. leave less than 18"
10 to 20ft. Leave less than 2 1/2ft
>20ft. Leave less than 3-3 1/2ft

Obviously i want to hole all these. But if i miss i don't want to be further away than those distances.
Usually i'm well within those distances. But don't hole that many from further than 10ft. So 8 it is.

Interlock grip, which is what I use with all clubs. I'd rate myself as 4/10, I very rarely 3 putt, and my first putt is usually pretty close, but I probably only hole 1 putt a round over 6 feet
