Orange Balls, problems hitting them anyone?

I had a bad round today which I am convinced was partly due to playing with orange AD333 balls, I lost 6, I just couldnt spot them at all after hitting them, but I also couldnt strike them properly. I had 9 left over from winter when it was frosty and thought I would save myself a few pounds and use them up today, I lost 6 and gave the others away. One of the chaps I was playing with tried them and he also couldnt hit them at all.
Now a ball is a ball, there cant be anything internally different, but is it possible the same reason they are difficult to spot on a green background, is the reason they are difficult to strike, (my eye cant stay locked on them during my swing). Has anyone else experienced this, or can everyone spot orange on a green background? Before I get slated I should point out I love Srixon balls and bought some more white ones to play with next week. I wear glasses to play, but dont have any colour blindness issues.,

I am glad that I am not the only one who struggles to spot them, I sometimes struggle to spot a white ball, and often get help from my playing partners, but the orange on green is awful.

I got some orange Nike PD Longs for winter. Same issue, I couldn't see them against green background. Excellent for the frost though. Yellow is the only high vis ball I'd play in future.

The team in white have just taken 24 minutes to score but they dont appear to be playing against anyone.

Re: Orange Balls, problems hitting them anyone?

Wouldn't know, there are certain things in golf that I am quite particular about. Golf balls should be white, there is no need to carry a ball retriever and putters shouldn't be anchored to your body.

As far as I'm concerned, if you use coloured balls, you deserve to lose many of them :D

I use the orange srixons alot, although I get plenty of grief at the club for it! Think they are great, can spot them a mile off. Like beacons on the fairway.

Always thought it was me that was at fault not hitting the yellow ones sweet until I read a study undertaken by a Sweedish institute using 100 test subjects (male/female mix) and a variety of diff coloured balls & took into account the changing ambient light conditions etc.......turns out I am actually crap at golf!!

Couldn't agree more.
