Common sense prevails.
But I thought extending the season was against the sporting integrity of the game?
I seem to remember a similar issue a few years back with a team playing in a European final no less.
An incompetent bunch of clowns running the game up here that should have been kicked into touch a few years back, but, the self preservation society of chairmen never had the balls to do it. They're stealing a living!
Why don't hibs just request move there match to Sunday for sporting integrity reasons?
And TV could cover both games. Win win win

The season did get extended back then

Rangers had earlier asked for a game against Gretna to be postponed the weekend before playing Lyon adding to the fixture congestion. There was also problems when a game was called off at Ibrox due to the weather as well as a whole week being lost after Phil O'Donnell passed away. Zenit had the opportunity to postpone their game as their season was just starting so there was plenty of time to fit the game in later. I don't think there was much else the league could do above and beyond ending the league on the Thursday, 4 days after it was originally scheduled for.It was extended by four days, Rangers had to play three games in seven days the week before the UEFA cup final and were aggrieved that they only had three days off ahead of the UEFA final. It was the bare minimum the SPL could do to make it possible for them to fulfil the fixtures. In contrast, Zenit were given a week off to prepare by the Russian league.
Oh yeah, and in 2003 the fixtures were changed to allow Celtic a week off before they played the UEFA cup final. But, hey, Rangers are the "establishment" club, apparently.

Sadly some things never seem to change.
