Only in Scotland

Listen, Scottish fitba only get their telly deal because of Rangers n celtic. :)

It's the fans of those clubs that get their games moved from a Saturday afternoon more than most, and you don't hear many complaints about that, so suck it up.

I'd have thought Hibs fans would be more concerned about the 'fixture chaos' surrounding the cup and play offs. :)

We (of the diddy clubs) know that you are 100% right - but that's not going to stop us having a wee go :)

Its not as if 2nd place gets promotion aswell as 1st and 3rd place gets nothing.

2nd,3rd & 4th spot enter a playoff. With 3rd and 4th playing each other. Winner of that plays 2nd. And the winner of that plays 11th from the league above.

Im sure if the SPFL thought there were any wrong doing tgey would have rejected it.

What if Rangers win there next 2 games and Hibs lose theirs or draw them and Rangers are either 4 or 6 points clear of them.

Typical paranoid footie fans

The other issue I heard on the radio is that should Hibs lose on the Saturday such that Rangers know they have already clinched second, it gives them the opportunity to rest players for the play off.

I'd be amazed if they don't shift the Hibs game too but pure incompetence the SPFL didn't arrange them back to back and sell them as such in the first place!

Looks like that's not all hibs are up in arms about.

Not saying I don't think the spfl (or whatever it is they call themselves nowadays) should get half of all the gate receipts, but y'all did vote for it...remember?

Integrity? Don't make me laugh. Cash is (unfortunately imo) king.

A spokesperson for the SPFL said: "On this weekend, the Hearts v Rangers match is scheduled for Sunday 3 May to be broadcast on television and it is not clear to us why this has caused so much surprise.
"This is a key game in the Championship season and will inevitably attract huge interest from fans around the world.
"It is unreasonable to expect all Championship fixtures that weekend to move to the Sunday when a number of them will be unaffected by the Hearts v Rangers tie.
"However, as a result of this fixture, all Championship clubs have been invited to submit a request should they wish to move games to the Sunday.
"To date, the only feedback we have received is from one Championship club, which has asked for its match to remain scheduled for the Saturday.
"For the avoidance of doubt, we have had no request from Hibernian FC to move its fixture to the Sunday at the time of writing.
"Whilst we regret any inconvenience to supporters caused by rescheduled fixtures, the circumstances surrounding the matches on the weekend of 2/3 May are in no way unusual."/QUOTE]

My flabber is utterly ghasted and I know I'm not alone, both Hibs andHearts are calling it a bogey and various other football fans I spoke to at supper tonight.

the folk running our game are so removed from reality it's unreal

I tend to agree with that general point, but on this particular issue I'm afraid I'm not sure what has you so upset....

A match gets shifted for TV - it happens every week. There's a question of fairness, which the SPFL have recognised but rather than inconvenience the fans of every team in the league by shifting all the fixtures (including definitely meaningless ones) they have offered every club the opportunity to move their match if they want.

For some reason, Hibs have chosen not to do that but make it into an issue with thinly-veiled accusations of bias.

I think Leanne Dempster comes across very well normally but she seems to have egg on her face this time.

Seems harsh for Neil Doncaster to put the onus on Hibs to ask for their game to be moved too, after all its not actually Hibs game, its Falkirk's

So what if Hibs say yes please move ours to Sunday & Falkirk so no way we're happy with Saturday?

Damned if you do and damned if you don't, it would seem.

Regardless, the way Rangers are going Hibs will have second spot sewn up before the last game :-(

Yeah just felt the governing body really shouldn't be promoting a 'do what you like' attitude which might create problems between clubs

Didn't catch any footage from last night but reports say 1-1 was a fair result, does make things a tad more interesting and the chance for final day carnage is looking better all the time

Rather a silly idea, all the last day matches should be played at the same time on the same day. If it had been an Alloa v Rangers match on the last day, do you think that would have been moved to the Sunday. Money speaks, so TV money gets final say and a crucial match is moved back 24 hours .... no fair on the other teams possibly fighting out for playoff places.

If they want the TV money, why not play the match on the Friday ?

That would just switch the advantage to Hibs though
