Ok the season's ending, the winter copms/league are starting and clubs are making plans for next year.
If you had one wish for your club, what would it be.

More ground staff?
More bar staff?
Less members?
Faster/slower/bigger/smaller greens?
More/less trees/bunkers/streams?
etc
etc
etc

Improve the greens, they're in need of a bit of attention. Apart from that it's pretty good.
:)

The only other thing I'd wish is for a lottery win so I didn't have to work and could play more golf. :)

More bunkers.
Yep you heard it right.
We have 5.
Much of the land is owned by a stuffy Hotel that wont let bunkers be dug on it.
Makes life a little tricky when you go to somewhere like the PGA National at. The Belfry and one of their small bunkers has more sand in it than the whole of your course...

3 simple point for me, all easily achievable

1. Make part of the bar a spike bar.
2. Make some competitions drawn.
3. Introduce weekend roll ups.

For me it would be two things;

- better yardage markers.

We have 150 and 100 yard discs in the middle of the fairway, and being an undulating links course it's sometimes hard to pick them out, so I'd prefer the posts at the sides of the fairways.

- open up the bar\restaurant earlier.

It doesn't open until 11, so no chance of getting any breakfast on an early start, and if I start really early in the morning sometimes cannot get a coffee afterwards.

Other than that, pretty much OK.

Without doubt better

1) bunkers, some sand and drainage wouldn't go a miss.

2)tee boxes, to many uneven lies.

Must say that our greens are still fantastic condition.

I'll add one to this list;

More money.Tain are not a well off club and struggle to make many improvements.

But the only ones i would make if we had the money would be management of the broom lining the fairways. Large area's of it are starting to die or or has already died.

On weekends, only one day to be used for competitions allowing social golfers a chance to get decent tee times that can fit in with family commitments.

Water features, our course drains ok usually but the weather in the uk doesnt lend itself to parkland courses 6 months of the year, our club have no water features whatsoever so all drainage is underground really. Id love a couple of ponds/lakes or flatbed rivers dissecting the course to help.

Justone has hit the nail on the head!

An iPhone app to move the fairway across to gather the ball in the correct position for your next shot, dictated by the flag position on the day!
