12 months of the year golf :-) even here in the UK..Summer season now over, and already 2 weeks into the winter leagues.. Weekly comps on Mondays/Wednesdays. and lots of clubs to visit at reduced greenfees.. Dont be fair weather golfers guys keep it going .

I have had some of my favourite rounds in the winter. I love a bit of breeze or frost, not too keen on driving rain mind you, but other than that I agree with you. Plus it means I don't start from scratch with my swing next spring!

My club stop running medals over the winter but keep the stablefords going. Not ideal in my book but I'll play any comp to try and get my handicap down. Winter golf to my mind is a lot more relaxed. I feel the course plays harder and longer and I am usually working on some swing change or another so I rock up with no qualms and play. If its frost it becomes a lottery and so I care even less about the score. I just use it as a way of getting my game to a starting position ready for mext year

We are similar, a lot of Stableford comps.

I'm going to try and work on a few little bits over the winter, hitting the ball more consistantly and make sure my grip is going ok. I have 3 lessons on my account so may get those in.

Just need to get some thermals and bits for the cold breezy evenings at the range

Our Comps end in November but We 3 intrepid adventurers (Me, CVG and Fragger) will be out in all weathers - except frozen ground all though the Winter, honing our swings with 14 layers on....

Qualifying comps have stopped now, we get a stableford once a month, a turkey trot and a few comps over the Xmas break.

I love winter golf. For me it is back to the fun 4 ball, the banter, the mad shots that you would never try with a card in your hand and playing for a couple of quid like it is a kings ransom. Don't get me wrong, I love comps and trying to get my handicap down but it is nice to spend a few months with no thoughts about handicap cards and playing for little more than bragging rights down the pub.

Will play golf and winter league all winter but no medals for me until April.

Our place does a winter stableford comp which is the total of your best three rounds over the winter. I'll probably enter that to keep the competitive juices flowing.

No comps after 15th Oct up here.

There is the Allience which covers Northern area from Invergordon up to Wick and Durness. Also one for the Moray coast covers from Lossiemouth down to Grantown across to inverness. Theyy are every other sunday untill Dec then start up again in Feb till the end of March.
