One lucky person ...

We got on great. Little bit of drizzle every now and then, but a good days golfing. Played the East course in the morning, and the less said about the scoring the better. Spot of lunch and a beer, and then the West course in the afternoon. Better golf in the afternoon. Must be beer related. Nearly shot my handicap.

Nice courses, fine company, can't fault it. Thanks Leftie and Pieman for a grand day.

Modesty stops me from calling the shot of the day, but if you insist....

165 to the pin, in the left hand rough, blocked out by a tree. Cut a 5i round (ok, through a bit) the tree, pitched front edge, couple of skips, bit of roll, in she goes, eagle 2 for 5 points. Pieman left with solid short iron to about 2 foot (great shot) for tap in birdie 3 to consolidate the loss of hole.

A cracking days golfing - thanks to Leftie and Murph for their excellent company (Leftie - many thanks for arranging; Murph - many thanks for the lift).

The golf was mixture of the good, the bad and the ugly, but afternoon was definitely better than the morning. Congrats to Murph for taking the honours - and the shot of the day; not often I have to hole a 120yard wedge for a half in two on a par 4 - and to Leftie for running him close. I think I played the role of gallant loser to perfection!!

Note to self though - 45 minutes of squash the night before getting up at 5.30am for 36 holes of golf is the not the most ideal preparation - was blowing out my arse with about 5 holes to go!!!

Biggest decision now is whether to put the clubs away and hibernate for the winter!!!!

And another note to self - read the bloody GPS instructions before you try to use it!!!

We are mainly talking black. Seasonal black, with a splash of colour.

Medal tomorrow, if the course is open. Currently banging down with rain. Not good. Well, maybe, as I'm not that keen on getting yet another 0.1 back.

Sounds like a decent day. Any news on the choice of colours for the group today. Conservative to match the change of season or loud to bring a last splash of summer to the course

It was a very decent day and thanks to Murph and Pieman for getting up so early so that we could get both rounds in. Great company (as always) and some good golf (at times :o)

I'm much too much of a gentleman to comment on the sartorial elegance of my guests, or lack thereof :D. It has to be said however that the way Murph decorates his balls has to be seen to be believed

Suffice to say, I received no adverse comments from the occasional member that we came across.

Super perdormance by Pieman with 5 birdies including back to back on 8th (index 1) and 9th West course.

Murph's eagle brought more laughs than congratulations as his 5 iron, which had been arrow straight all day, carried on going straight for him and his "cut around the tree" was slowed down as it went straight through the branches and leaves just enough for the ball to end up dead weight into the hole.

Great shot Murph ;) ;)

You're so critical Leftie! I'm sure he hit the leaf he was aiming for :D
