Watched it last night....great film.Thought it was going to be a bit of a let down after all the hype but was plesently suprised. Also watched The host....worth a view.

Watched olympus the other night, really enjoyed it, my other good film recently was World War Z, the Brad Pitt film, that was a good watch also.

Another thumbs-up for Olympus Has Fallen here. Watched Argo tonight, very impressed, would recommend Flight, RED 2 and 2 Guns when they get to DVD.

Trailered at 2 Guns was White House Down, which seems to be very similar to Olympus Has Fallen, surprised that has happened so soon.

Olympus was a pretty good film:thup:

You'll find that Film companies tend to have very similar films out together, the thinking is if you like one (one could be great and the other tripe) you'll pay and see the other.......

Armageddon and Deep Impact (wash over you visual feasts)

The prestige and The illusionist (I didnt like one so didnt see the other)

Volcanoe and Dantes Peak (saw both)

Red Planet and Mission to Mars (I liked both of them)

etc etc etc I'm sure there are loads..

I noticed this years ago......

and this year we have Tom Cruise in Oblivion (enjoyed that) with After Earth (havent gone due to poor reviews)

Fair point, can't say I'd noticed that, although at nearly £11 per ticket I can't say I'll be rushing to see White House Down, that can wait for the DVD to come out!

Got the blu ray the other day and watched it on Sunday night. Pretty good film, but as you have said, it's "Die Hard" without Bruce.
Got Oblivion too. Don't know. Jury is out. I like Tom Cruise, just couldn't really get in to the film. Stunning visuals though.
Missus got the new Star Trek last night. Another good film with brilliant visuals. Can't believe how much like Spock the new Spock is becoming.

Having been forced to watch it by my daughter, I cannot help but recommend "The Hunger Games". A truly superb idea and film.

Good film, just not a new idea.... a slightly different take on Battle Royale.... which is also a very good film.

Olympus was way better than I expected, thoroughly enjoyed it.

I've been recommended Dead Man Down, but am yet to see it.

Film snob here, I'd rather fry my testicles in lard than watch Olympus Has Fallen
Not really an action film fan to be honest, most are predictable and just shoot, car chase, shoot, car chase etc.
Best film of that ilk I've seen lately is End Of Watch, a cop movie with a difference, definitely worth a watch.

Not a bad film but it wasn't great either in all honesty. Lots of die hard style action which is always a good thing - but the storyline was a bit weak otherwise.

Kept finding myself expecting to see Jack Bauer jump out from somewhere and assume control of the situation!

I don't know if talking about other films is going off topic but I thought Jack reacher (which has been on SKY recently) was a brilliant film.
