Homer&Smiffy...get a grip..do you also go out with their branded tops ,trousers, gloves, waterproofs etc????
Surely half the fun is having nice threads and gear(although not too expensive)
SWMBO does buy me loads of nice branded gear(via ebay),mainly because I can't afford list prices,as I'm sure a lot of us can't!
So time to get sensible.. :D

The car was in ATS for a couple of tyres today and they had a TG from a couple of months back. They did a standbag test and the Ogio they showed came last coz it wouldn't stand up! Apparently the stand broke as soon as they tried to use it.

Still, we know what TG are like........

BTW I've got a Mizuno GTO in blue - nice bag

One word of advice though regarding Ogio stand bags, their legs at times can not be as stable as some, if you google it you will see the issues some people have had.

In regards to matching kit, its no biggy if one manufatures kit suits all your game no sweat, its when people buy all the same gear for names sake and can not use them for toffee I find amusing (not that anyone here fits into that), in regards to clothing, I wear kit like Ashworth, Callaway, Ping and Nike with chinos from Sainsburys & Stuburt waterproofs (which seem to be falling apart after a couple of months, so much for UK loyalty!!) as I tend to pop into the club house and want to look my best (nothing to do with looking like I am about to step onto the 1st tee on the high street ;) )

Look the part - play the part! If you go out feeling and looking good it will help your game, go out feeling / looking like crap you will play like it.
However, when your as good looking as me I make everything look cheap, ha ha ha.

You might be best suited for the Poulter range then ;)

No way mate, defo Marks & Sparks chinos, Plain Polo shirt and plain black golf shoes for me thank you.

You gotta have game to pull off what Poulter wears. I cant fault what Homer wears as he is also a decent golfer, and it aint over the top he just looks smart.

However, the bright purple shoes that one forum member has are……………….

The £10 is in the post!! It was different back in the 80's when I was an assistant pro and got a small sponsorship deal for one season with Slazenger and had to wear their shirts and jumpers, but now I buy stuff that is smart and comfy. I do have a number of Adidas shirts (part of TM) but more because they are comfy and look smart rather than to match my TM clubs. 90% of my jumpers are club crested so no brand affinity there. My trousers are mixture of M&S, and Burton. The only concession I may give is my Myjoy shoes. I wanted something a little different and something to match the colour of my trousers or tops. The fact that I coulds put Homer on the side was a plus but I just fancied being a bit of an individual. If people are fussed about the cost of my spending, the pro did me two pairs of Myjoy PODS for £110 which was about £10 per pair over the RRP of a plain pair of PODS. I paid for one and my mother paid for the other for my birthday.

I like to feel smart going out as it makes me a more confident player. I also like to feel smart going into the clubhouse. I am lucky that suits aren't mandatory for my job at the hospital (apart from some meetings) and I wear my golf stuff as smart casual. No-one has complained about it being too garish so there can't be too much wrong with it.

Going for the bag in Orange, sod the blue one, so what it wont match the grips, the orange is super sexy.

Have found it for £108, trying to get AG to price match it.
