The wifes' new engagement ring

She seems happy enough though, so it's all worth it

you missed a trick, should have bought a cheap one from a shopping Chanel, nice looking but only £50ish,gone to a posh jewellers she would know buy a ring say for £1000 keep it for a day or two then take it back and keep the receipt that you put in your pants pocket, you give her the £50 ring and say nothing and just take all the hugs n kisses and leave your pants to be washed she finds receipt for the other ring and loves you even more, bobs your uncle and hello new golf gear, simples!!!!!!!!

That must be a big stone!

In today's money my wife's would just about buy one top notch driver, don't know what it would have bought then, I was on a 20 year break from golf.

I guess I'm just cheap. Mrs mogs engagement ring cost me £150 odd. Her grandad gave me the rock, so I just had to get it mounted. He had a hideous tie pin, which turned into a very nice ring. Every cloud etc.

Thats one lovely looking ring, with the brownie points you'll have earnt you might be able to get yourself one of the things you could have bought ;)

well done gareth:thup:

You do realise you've set the bar now and the wedding ring needs to outdo the engagement ring:cool:

Mrs MN's response was a big Ahhhhhhh!

I would say that that ring has in fact bought you

4x rounds of golf with your mates on your mother-in-law's birthday

2x forgetting your anniversary

5x GM forum meets

;):D

Nice... 1.4 carat?

Nah James. just 0.59ct, Asscher cut diamond, H colour, VS2 clarity, Very good cut (...... I know it doesn't mean anything to me either  ). The reason it looks bigger than it is is only down to the fact my wife has the hands of a 10 year old, so the band is quite small.

well done gareth:thup:

Luckily, she says her wedding ring is perfect. That'll change soon no doubt

I bought my wifes engagment ring off a Hatton Garden trader that I knew.
Over the years we have always wondered it's true value [he said that he gave me a big discount]
We jokingly had it valued after 40 years of wear and got a very pleasant surprise.

Like your style Gareth. Why did you go for a new engagement ring, rather than an eternity ring?

Bought Mrs MB's eternity ring last year... 96 diamonds in it. Hurt the pocket at the time, but it sure came in handy when justifying buying a bagful of new golf gear this year!! Got to play the long game in this life!
