Not long now

I'll be having a bite to eat Christmas morning on the golf course, probably an omelette sarnie with chips or something. Never normally bother, but it's a special occasion and all that.

Probably have Turkey breast & Cheese toasties for dinner if i'm stuck on my tod.

Going to give one of these "four bird roast" things a try this year....but have a Turkey crown as back up along with a nice joint of roast ham (on the bone of course).
All going out for a nice Thai meal on Christmas Eve, will follow this up with a big roast on Christmas Day, plenty of sprouts 'cos we all love 'em.

"four bird roast" .

That sounds like an old News of the World Headline :)

We will probably have Turkey, infact it's being ordered today. I'm pushing for a smaller turkey and a really nice beef joint. We are feeding 8 and it's good to have a bit of choice. A Toby Carvery in minature if you like.

I also think I'm cooking, so the potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and parsnips may have to be Aunt Bessies !!

Wife's a nurse and on early shift (7am -3pm) Christmas day..........means I'm doing dinner. Will be Turkey without doubt, probably a crown, with all the regular trimmings.

Am I alone in my love of brussel sprouts?

Told the missis to hang fire on getting a Turkey, as I expect to win one in this Saturdays Turkey trot. But she has little faith in me and ordered one :(

Bernard Mathews Turkey crown, honey roasted carrots and parsnips, roasties, mash, a mountain of brussels, peas, bread sacue, stuffing and pigs in blankets. A big blob of cranberry suace and enough gravy to sink a battle ship. Washed down with lots of wine followed by a big glass of malt whisky and half a pint of port.

My Missus has bought me a big bottle of "Gentleman Jack". Like Jack Daniels, but better!!
I'm going to have about 3 or 4 large glasses of that with my dinner, oink my ring up and sleep the rest of the day.

Well I will have ... what ever is left!!

I am fortunate in that I help host Christmas Day for about 50 less fortunates .... this includes both food and entertainment and I can assure you it is difficult to clean up at the end of the day without having this wonderful Christmas feeling!

Older/younger, some with and some without homes, some on their own and others with ailing partners but all leave with their Boxing day 'doggy' bag and the Christmas spirit look in their faces.

Can't wait!!

I have a bottle at home and it is very nice. A few glasses of that and I might get away with doing nothing :D

Roast goose and a nice rib of beef.

All punctuated by regular Hendricks gin Martinis throughout the day, from 10 am onwards.

Evening: the Christmas Sandwich... containing all available types of meat, bread sauce, mayo, stilton, salad, pickled onions, pickled red cabbage, stuffing, mustard, chutney. In a triple decker or baguette. Best bit of the day.

Apply malt whisky and port liberally from 7pm until unconsciousness.

Not a fan of turkey, so the mother in law is making one of her fantastic steak and kidney puddings:D

This year will be a first for me .......... the first time I've invited myself to a forum members for dinner. Steak and kidney pudding, absolutely my favourite!!

Turkey and honey roast ham served with roast and mashed spuds, broccolli, marrowfat peas, chipolattas and stuffing. Xmas pud and trifle for afters. Glass of champagne before dinner, bottle of Barolo with it and then the weiss beer gets a hit. Wake up on Boxing day with an incredibly sore head. Promise to take it easy next year.

great big turkey from the farm up the road, plenty of roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots, mash... a plate full of brussels (i love em), home made onion gravy and stuffing (old family recipe), suet balls, pigs in blankets.. a bottle of merlot followed by several bottles of Erdinger... Maybe some trifle.. topped off with a shared bottle of Caol Ila with the old man.. Forget boxing day, I dont get up til mid afternoon, at which point we have 20-30 friends and family coming round for a party..Thank god im off for a few days after...

Turkey for us too all the trimmings etc. We have toyed with the idea of a goose and ditch the American influenced turkey but as never had goose not too sure we'd like it so... turkey it is!

Some great stories on this thread makes me fuzzy inside and all christmassy... Merry Christmas everyone!

In the words of Ray Wilkins:-

Well done that man.
