When my new clubs arrived today I unboxed them with much excitment!

So OK, my mum does not know much about golf, so mistakes can happen.

What I expected to be a hardly used 3-PW set of MP-52s actually turned out as an almost pristine set of MP-57s!

I am actually a little relieved, although I do love the look of the MP-52s with their little dual thingy I had the thought they might be a little to hard to hit until I get a bit more golf under my belt.

I still cannot find a set of 3-PW any cheaper online (I paid £200 with P&P) so I am still VERY happy, maybe even more so as I still get everything I wanted minus a little worry that I was lacking forgiveness.

I can forgive my mum, she is well... my mother

Oh! My friend. You are in for a treat!

You may have noticed that I have mentioned my Mp-57's once or twice :D

They are the nicest irons I've ever hit.

You need to change your sig now though ;)

A bit confused, what did your mother have to do with things? I cant believe you shelled out 200 quid for some clubs without knowing the model you were getting??

Aztecs, cant believe you missed the opportunity to highlight what you paid for yours :D :D

I didn't want to rub it in, but since you mentioned it, mine were £150. They were second hand though (though they don't look it), so £200 brand spankers (assuming this is the case) is very good money.

:D

I think the MP52 are more forgiving than the MP57. The 52 is a cavity back and 57 muscle back (no Cavity). Mind you they are still pretty forgiving.

The 57's have a slight cavity I would say. I was surprised how forgiving the 57's are though; When I used to hit bad shots with my Black Cats, my fingers would hurt for about 20 minutes. With the Mizzy's I know when I've thinned one, but it doesn't hurt nearly as much and bad shots aren't nearly as bad!

I still get a bit scared when I'm hitting my 3 iron though, as it looks like a butter knife when standing over it at address! :D

If you've got a cavity on any of your MP57's, they are not real. The 57 is a Muscle back. Have a look at what the 52's look like they have a cavity. :p

Yes, forgiving and MP57 aren't words I'd normally put together in the same sentence.

They are very good clubs though if you're on your game ;)

57's look along the same lines as 60's/62's
52's have a definite cavity

Prefer 58's :D

Ah! I see what you mean. My definition of "cavity" was completely wrong. Don't worry (I'm sure you were ;))m mine look like they should.

:D

Also, from certain angles you can't see the MP-52's cavity, it just looks like it has a bulge on the back of the club, but upon further inspection I can see where the cavity has been cut out.

Must clear a few things up.

I hit a couple of mizuno irons, some pings and a few others in a Nevada Bobs nets last year, just before the MP-52s stopped being sold new. Loved every mizuno to bits!

I decided there and then I wanted a set of MP-52s or 57s but I could not afford anything new, with all money problems we are having in this country at the moment. Cue my mother to call in December:

"Your uncle has spotted a set of Missbuno somthing or others, I think its MT-52s or something. His friend the club pro has them in, a member used them as a trade in and the clubs are in very good condition."

Once I had deciphered which models she was on about I did not question it. Maybe I should have checked with my uncle but somehow it did not get noticed when we talked on the phone!

Anyway I parted with my money, a 3-pw set for 200 is as good as 180 for 4-pw, maybe £5 cheaper.

Today they turn up, look amazing, one or two knicks in the wedge but that is to be expected. The shafts and the grips look good too (only 9 months use). Otherwise they are fantastic. From the money I have saved I expect I will go now and see if I need a different shaft in them, something I may not have been able to afford to do with brand new clubs.

Overall I am extremely happy with my purchase, now just to recover from this surgery and go out a week on Wednesday to the range (and again thursday and friday etc)

A note on the surgery

Things are generally good, feeling the best I have so far since it. Sadly my left sinus has not healed yet, I have to go get a clot removed. On the bright side no more sinus rinses till Thursday at the earliest! WOOO!!!

Welcome to the Mizuno Mutual Ma**ub***on Forum!
(there are other makes of clubs available)

Well I didn't hit the Mizuno's better than my TM's and so bought Titleist instead - I suppose I'm barred from this forum?
