Hi all. With my intention this year to play more golf around the north east and Cumbria I was looking to see if any forum members would like to put their name and club forward for mini meets throughout this year.

I'm a member at Hexham and also Allendale and happy to arrange rounds here (I work weekdays so it would be evenings/weekends or school holidays).

Lord Tyrion is another local based at Burnham.

Join the thread if you are interested...

In fact a couple of berths free tomorrow at Hexham if anyone is at a loose end. My son and I are having a knock. 12:12 tee.

I am not in the NE (diagonally opposite in SW) but may be up in Newcastle later this year if my wife gets the go ahead to donate a kidney to our niece. My wife has said she is happy for me to play golf instead of sitting by her bedside all day so will be looking to try and tap into the local golfers.

I am going to offer a round at Hexham next Sunday, the 9th, in the afternoon (after 12). Any takers?

Still winter rules (mats or semi rough) but greens in play.

Springveldt - which day over the weekend or is variable?

Me , my wife & golden retriever are having a 4 day break in Northumberland starting 11th June . I’ve been up to Northumberland last 2 years and played Seahouses & Dunstanburgh castle on my own . I would be interested in joining someone if they fancied a round on the Friday 13th ?

Adding myself to the group, I’m a member at Arcot Hall. Happily retired, so pretty much able to play whenever or wherever.

Happy to host at my place, but on mats at the moment, better to wait until Spring/ Summer to see it at its best.

Hi, I'm happy to join up for a round. You can either play my club, join up with someone else from here who has a more interesting Northumberland course, or just pick one out. Either way we can sort something out (y)

Sorry missed this as I wasn't tagged so didn't get a notification.

During the summer the club alternates comp days between Saturday and Sunday so the other day would be best for visitors. Just now I could play either day but I'm not sure if we still have the rule we had last year were you couldn't book visitors in before 11am on the weekend. I'd need to check that. Fairway protection is on this year (just move to the side, don't need a mat) but full greens always (next year I think we will be going to temps for frost for the first time).

Once the later nights come in I usually get a midweek evening round in as well, typically a Wednesday (that's a left over from my days at Arcot Hall were we always played in the sweep on the Wednesday) but at Newbiggin it's a weird one as the sweep runs Monday-Friday and you can enter as many times as you like. As I say typically Wednesday but we did play a few Tuesdays last summer.

It's difficult for me to play during the day as even if I took a holiday time would be limited as I do the school run.

I'll add my details to the group... happy to welcome guests when it warms up a bit!

Home club: Seaton Carew.
Quality of course: brilliant.
Quality of my golf: highly variable! Love the game, but try not to take it too seriously!
Availability: school holidays are best.

Here's to those lovely Spring/Summer nights when you can play a few holes and it's not dark by 5PM!!!!
