Newbie in the Midlands!

Yeah lichfield isnt far as im sutton coldfield but used to live bartley green. Few lads said lickeys is a good all without even hitting the 19th. Cheers again lads this is exactly what i was looking for and as i said, When im ready... Any excuse for a round will do me so i shall see you then. Does anyone play in a society? What is involved is it like a league system?

I've been thinking about joining a society, but the only local one I can find is Shirley Nomads. You get to play Shirley Golf Course on Thursdays for £20 and they give you a handicap certificate. It's a Stableford league or something and you just play when you have a free Thursday. I've looked at their website, www.shirleynomads.com but there doesn't seem to be much recent activity, so I don't know if it's still active.
Let me know if you fancy a game sometime. I'm a beginner, no handicap but I reckon I'd be about 25.
