New SKY boxs ?

For the SKY experts please...
I know there are the new ITB/1.5 TB boxes out now but I've seen a few 500 GB SKY boxes advertising on ebay as new 3D ready or New 2013 version boxes
Are there such things or is this 'imaginative advertising'
Are they just the normal DRX890

New "versions" of the box have not been made since December 2011. New BOXES will have been manufactured during this time.
All Sky+HD boxes from the original Thompson CTR250 boxes were 3D "ready" (i.e. the ability to use 4 transponders worth of feed and transmit as an overlay).
Whether a box is 250, 320, 500 or 1TB as long as they are Sky+HD then they are 3D "ready".

I believe that the new 2TB boxes are still on course for release this year.

Sky offered me a 2TB box at the weekend on the phone. But Greig seems to be suggesting they are not out? Are they not available yet Greig?

Not that I'm aware of. Normally when a new product launches my business area take care of the business readiness and process inception. Not seen 2TB box on any roadmap other than the future state map. 2TB AFAIK were always in plan for Q4 so sometime around June.

Edit: I stand corrected. Just text my mate who is in marketing. The 2TB launch was brought forward due to some issue with 1TB stocks.

you can upgrade the HDD yourself if you have some know how...

You could only upgrade it yourself if you had access to the proprietary format software used to alow thd box to function and recognise the HDD.
Done via the RS232 port.
