New laptop....OR?

If you wanted a tablet rather than a laptop maybe worth looking at the MS Surface, useable as a tablet but comes with a keyboard and I think MS Office loaded, not a recommendation but looked a decent product if you wanted high level portability but with more business like requirements

Can you not get plug in keyboards for tablets/pads? If you could this would be ideal wouln't it?

no as their WP isnt good enough......

Was at Argos yesterday to pick something... behind the shelf was an ex-display Toshiba high end laptop for about £350.. cant go wrong.. look for deals.
