Hi all

I've been thinking about changing my irons, although I do really like my Ping i10's. Looked at the i15's but I don't like the 3 & 4 iron (You can see the bottom of the club at set up).

So this got me thinking, if I got a chrome finished club will they look like s**t after three months? It was the thing I hated about my Mizuno's years ago, when you used a carry bag the clubs used to leave little marks all over the back of each other as the rattled as you carried them.

Now the question, I have a Powakaddy cart bag and trolley is this still an issue? I just don't like my clubs looking like c**p!! :D :D

I think you've had the problem answered very neatly. Its one thing I love about Mizzy in particular, the look of their irons. The better player versions always look so enticing and scream "hit me". All well and good until they are in my hand and then they mock me "you're rubbish". If your're good enough to use them fill your boots and just invest in the headcovers.

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase dont do it. They are the devils work................and youll look a complete knob. They should be banned forever along with Bronty chipmasters and those rubber suckers that fit on the end of putters for getting your ball out of the hole.

Whats wrong with the end of putter get oot the hole ball thingy........not got one, but one day, just one day.

Take no notice of them and go ahead and get the headcovers. Great idea. I used to use them when I had graphite shafted irons and two years down the line the shafts were as good as new, as were the heads. I wish I'd started using them on my Mizzys. They are steel shafted and I didn't think I needed them but my clubs are now covered in "clatter" marks.
I don't know what people have got against iron head covers. Why protect your woods and not your irons????

Hi

I have zipped headcovers on my Fusion Wide Soles AND black plastic insulating tape on the bottom 2/5 of the graphite shafts. My Driver and woods have black insulating tape on the top edge of the heads as well to protect against the occasional sky.

Sad or what

Your woods are covered in a thin layer of paint with a lacquer that will chip like fud. The woods also have faces that are thinner than a strip of tin foil just so that us hackers have a chance of hitting the ball past the 150yd markers so are much more prone to actual damage and not just "bag chatter".
Putters are made of 'soft' metals (or inserts) and if a ding on the putter face is where the ball is struck it will have an affect on the ball rolling because of the slow swing speed with have with the putter.

Blimey!!

Do you leave the plastic wrapper on your sofa to keep it in pristine condition!! :D

Bet you've got car mats too.

Putting tape on top of a driver is saying you are confident you are going to roof it. Not good psychology. Like getting an old ball out for drives over water.

Hey there sharkattack,
Check out these if your worried about your shiney new sticks getting marked....I came across this site one night by accident.....They maybe a load of crap but they look pretty practical.....
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Headcovers Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! New bag
And it looks like no new irons. God that was the shortest "no" in this thread. Looks like i'll be playing with Ping's for another few years, which when I think of it is not a bad thing.
