Hi,

Booked some green fees to play at wicklow golf club (Eire)On the website it says €25 when we arrived on the day I was charged €40. I said its on the website for €25 and he said that was winter rate, but it doesn't state that on the site.

What do you think i should do?I don't see €40 anywhere on the site!

Site here

Cheers

Just went through the online booking service and it states that it is 40 for weekday and 45 for weekends. The key is the wording it says "from" 25 euros.

Crikey, wouldn't be complaining about 40 euros for the look of that track!!!

Looks lovely, that view on the 1st tee makes you want to go and play!! :D

Sadly this is the problem with sellers trying to capture and get customers. Prices starting at, or prices from, are generally misleading, as often the price you pay is not immediately clear.

It's like the car adverts on telly. This car from £7995. In small print, very quickly on the screen appears. Model shown GTi with optional leather, air con, 18" allys, sports pack, etc. Price £14,950! It's 'rowlocks!!'.

It a marketing ploy I can't stand. In my opinion of course.

I far as I see it, the price you see should be the price you pay, and the product you see should bear a resemblence to it's price, as in the car ads. However as always, buyer beware, and check in detail what something is really going to cost you.

Huh! Marketing types!! :p

(So how many I have alienated tonight then!?) ;)

This weeks 'old man' rant over with. :D

That's the first website I have seen for a golf course that doesn't show the actual green fee you are expected to pay. I saw the "from" 25 euros and agree with an earlier poster that it is a little misleading.
But I also agree that the course looks superb and forty euros would be stumped up by me to play it.
It looks a lovely track.

Its a fine track---play it during a sunny days and the views out to sea from the cliffs on the back nine are superb.
The couple of holes in front of the clubhouse are not as good as the rest of the course.
