After some tough rounds over the last 3 days, I have my 2nd round Trilby Matchplay later today (4pm). I won my Founders (board comp) matchplay on Friday which was followed by a tough Medal day on Saturday and then a long journey and even longer round at Preston yesterday, so, I need a boost as I'm feeling a bit jaded, any idea's?

What do you do to pick yourself up and give the body a boost when needed, if anything?

Food, drink & rest.

Add to that I remind myself about my good games and spectacular shots - visualisation.

And finally, in my job I get to spend a fair bit of time in Intensive Care, Special Care Baby Units, Theatres and A&E. Every time I step out onto the course I realise it's just for fun. Whatever bad happens actually isn't that important.

Go for run! :) Ipod and shades on, lovely sunshine gets the heart going blood flowing and raises all the feel good factors and clears the mind! Then have a large iced cold gin and tonic with lime and wowsa! :)

when you find out let me know, I just lost my 1st rnd singles to a 24 h/capper and I'm 3 putting even the practice putting green:eek::rofl:

going to have some fun on the course this week, no playing safe, no mechanical swing thoughts, stand up and hit it, find it and smack it again.........luvvely

I only played 9 on Saturday to save my legs a little for preston yesterday. my legs are aching today. a proper golf course yesterday up and down the slopes.

I don't think theres much you can do. your body needs rest at times. once you get back out there you'll soon forget you have sore legs. get your game head back on and get out there and enjoy it. weather is fine once again.

enjoy it fish, you have the life of it. I have to go to work

Alright mate

Relax and enjoy it, drink lots of water and eat some Banana's or other 'carby' type of food. Just remember, you could be stuck in an office with a diary full of meetings wishing you were playing golf in the sunshine.....wait, thats meeeeeeee

A nice massage off the mrs while sipping a nice cold beverage should do it

If your still feeling a bit tired later when it comes to game time just use a few mind games, they will see you through :D

Only 3.5hrs to go so can't get much of what has been advised sorted but thanks, will take on board for the future

Interesting read. seems people eating bananas on the way around a course does squat! Need to be eaten in a 1-2hr window prior!

Seems my curry and pint was a No-No before playing Preston yesterday, but it was nice :smirk:
