I played at clitheroe golf club yesterday, course was in good nick but only as you had to play off a mat from the fairway! You'd think being an expensive members club that the green staff would be able to keep it playable through the fairways. Anyway had a good round(for a 24 handicapper) I shot a 86-24=62. had a birdie and the par4 4th and 5 pars. I had 2 bad holes on the back 9 (a 6 and an 8!) but overall a good afternoon.

Good stuff. Great shooting as well considering there's a snowman on your card.

Wouldn't like to be giving you full handicap allowance, are you related to Delb?

Well played, think you might have missed the point with the fairway mat, the reason is to give the fairways a chance to recover from a heavy season of golf and that the following season the course is tip top condition most of the private clubs around the North west including mine all use mats in winter, no need to use one when of the fairways.
I was at Clitheroe last year to see the guy I have lessons with qualifier, only 4 guys came in under par the R&A had set the course up unbelievable pin positions
