use it in Sainsburys every week, last week my points were worth about £60, was in last night, looked at my till receipt and they are now worth £3.

went on the live chat, and they have told me the points were used to buy something on ebay. they won't give me details of what, but they have said it's definitely not me, so they are cancelling my card and sending out a new one with the points added back on it.

never heard of this scam before, worth checking your balance if you have a card.

Could they have accidently put your card number in?

you would have thought the system would have been more robust than that.

when I logged on to the nectar website using my card number, it didn't recognise my password. I asked for it to be reset and the reset code was sent to an email that they partially obscured, but obviously wasn't mine.

People will scam anything these days, I had my British Airways account hacked and someone changed my identity and transferred 140,000 Avios miles (enough for 2 business flights to New York) I did eventually get them back, but BA didn't seem to care too much about how and why it happened and who did it.

I wish it was still this value :(

It is? 50,000 BA avios get you to new york on business. I didn't say return! LOL Economy is only 13,000. but its the taxes that hit you. around 300 quid each way in tax. sometimes better off finding a cheap flight instead!

100k for an off peak return to NY now in business and around £550 in taxes, used to be great value but it's still ok granted.

Reviving this old thread. Yesterday I checked my Nectar points, something I rarely do. There were three withdrawals, totalling 4,500 points, on 20th & 21st August, made in 3 different locations in London. I googled "Nectar theft" & rang the number it gave. Spoke to a very helpful guy who very matter of fact explained that he'd need to create a new account to restore my points. No quibble at all, as if this was complete routine. I suspect that Nectar are aware of a security loophole & are refunding lost points without question. Not sure how this happens when, every time I log in to Nectar, I'm prompted to input a code sent to my mobile phone. I should have the new account within 10 days & think I'll find something to spend the points on before they have a chance to vanish again.

I would recommend that everyone check their account.
