My Masters Mistake.

I use to have sky and got the nowtv weekend pass for the masters, been great for the Thursday and Friday but switched to BBC HD but can't stand Peter Ayliss what ****

Bonus was to watch the arsenal burnley game last night

ive found the SKY coverage decent. Not to many ads and some well informed pundits.

are you confusing him with Peter Alliss - commentating golf legend

Yeah I have the same problem with the football on Sky as well. They tell you the programme starts at 3pm then they sit around talking about it for a whole hour, showing clips from previous games and interviews. The game doesn't even start until 4, sometimes even 4.05. Unbelievable.

it was 4.07 once, that was final straw for me:( called Sky and cancelled package as it's there fault

Sky's been ok really, less of Monty the better though. An hours pre chat before seeing shots being payed is not too bad..... the Golf Channel has a 6 hour build up with NO LIVE golf shots seen! Imagine how many ad breaks they had in that too!

Me me to much prefer sky to bbc - you can build up to the live action or re-live the previous action until your hearts content - with the old Beeb you get a bit of live action and that's it

We get this same gripe every time Sky show golf from the US. They have no control on the feed they have in any US event and arguably less so at Augusta where the committee control TV coverage with Draconian zest. If you don't want to put up with Sky's presentation, either wait until the weekend and the BBC (or the highlights for the Open) or don't watch. It's a simple enough choice. Sky aren't going to change so the choice is yours

People are allowed to whinge if they wish, is that not what open discussions are all about?
You could say the same about this thread, if you don't like it then don't read it or post on it.

Indeed but the point is the same. You can whinge all you like about Sky, but as the sole provider for 99% of the golf on TV now, you either have to accept their presentation, ad break, presenters and commentators or not watch. It ain't going to change. People have made whinging an art form on here at times but they are allowed to call it as they see it. I may (probably will ) comment and may not agree and as you suggest they are entitled to a different opinion and I don't have to agree or even read what they say. It won't change their point of view

It's a sad situation for future golf viewing. If enough people whinge about the quality of coverage they might take some notice, assuming that they have some people surveying the market and comments. It makes me feel better to know that most other people agree with my experience with Sky. It's not just me.

They willingly take notice once people stop paying the readies. Regarding masters live coverage currently sky have signed a contract ( to get there feet under the table) for 4 hours live coverage per day or whatever it is. Who's to say when the contract is up for renewal again sky won't say to the old masters committee we'll increase the wedge we pay for an extra couple of hours coverage

Don't think the Masters committee would sell out. Pretty sure the US broadcasters have already tried this

Loving the commentary and coverage on the BBC - the tone and voice of the BBC commentators is exactly how I remember watching it as a kid.
