mb clubs for 28 hc

People are different. I started with blades, not these muscle back pseudo-blades that we have now but proper thin jobbies. I honestly think that my ball striking is better than if I'd have used GI irons from the start because they more or less force you to hit the ball well or score garbage.

I can understand that some people get their enjoyment from the ball going where they want it to and scoring as well as they can, but I'd rather get a rubbish result from a rubbish contact and know that good shots are the result of good swings.

So there is someone else out there like me

Well said Gary

Fair enough. I just wonder how long someone will stick at scoring garbage with the promise that it may get better some time in the future, I suppose it depends on their commitment.

Personally I would rather my ball goes somewhere from a rubbish contact as well as a sweet one. Not that I hit many sweet ones. I look at it as a good shot is a result of my swing together with the maximum assistance form the technology/club I am using. And I ain't too proud to get all the help I can. After all, a birdie is a birdie, no matter if it was scored with someone using some Nike Blades with a text book swing or someone with a swing like an octopus playing the bagpipes using Ping K15s.;)

I have to say I agree with this, but there is a limit and those clubs off of that handicap is a recipe for disaster!

Loads of us on here started with blades, because that was all there was. Now there are more alternatives. Cavity backs don't need to be shovels.

The other thing is that those of us on here, who started with blades, and still play now are the successful ones. How many tried, and gave up because it was too difficult, and not enough fun?

I have use them for years as I like to work the ball and you get better feed back , but it time they may suit him but for now stick to a CB club till he is down to maybe 15 then get fitted for a set of clubs .............EYG

I experiment with blades, when they are hit nice they are beautiful, but the slightly poor contacts, particularly with the longer-irons, can be card-wreckers whereas with CB clubs, the damage is not always so severe.

I ditched the blades and got my 735CM irons as they are progressive cavities from 3-7 and then blades 8-PW. They work fine.

What were his previous clubs and what scores was he getting

So he couldn't score using some very forgiving irons ?! Why exactly is he swapping ?

He's already answered that. It's because he was playing with a bloke who plays off 2 who uses them and he liked the look of them. I mean with that logic, what could possibly go wrong??;)

It's just utterly dumbfounding - oh well I'm sure he will learn soon enough

I agree.

Will provide plenty of feedback!

Key is how much of the 'negative' feedback is he prepared to receive as opposed to getting decent results from a significantly more forgiving set.
