Match play wrong strokes received

Looking for input after one of our match play 4 ball matches ended last night. One of the guys was 25 hcap and advised he'd receive 18 shots against the 6 hcap guy. Only after being beaten did the two lower guys work out that he should only have received 17 shots. By this time the other guys were had left the club. I've had a look at 6-2 and 2-5. Has anyone come across this before?

Result stands. It's up to each player to know ( work out) the correct number of shots given or received BEFORE play.
Hopefully they won't make that error again!

I couldn't understand why you'd take someone's word for how many strokes THEY get from you, i'd always work it out myself.

Singles.
Higher player gets the difference between the two handicaps.
A is 10
B is 18
B gets a shot on SI's 1-8

Better Ball
Each of the 3 high handicaps get 90% (rounded, .5 going up) of the difference between them and the lowest handicap.
A is 12
B is 8
C is 18
D is 24

A gets 4 (3.6)
B gets none
C gets 9 (9.0)
D gets 14 (14.4)
