Just read through Robin's review of his trip to St Mellion and then looked at the resort website. It states that the Kernow course was recently included in the 'Top 5 2nd courses' survey. Would love to know the criteria for this as straight away off the top of my head I can think of Sunningdale, the Berkshire, Royal Troon, Turnberry, Saunton, London club, Royal Dornoch and East Sussex that all have better 2nd courses.

Anybody know anymore about these types of award?

It's probably an award they have given to themselves.

As a 2nd course it was nice but I can't see how it's top 5 2nd courses

There is a development in Lincoln just been built at the minute, they are advertising for tenants now but in the advertising guff it's says award winning restaraunts! How can they have award winning restaraunts when they don't have any tenants!

I wonder how much waffle and bull you would get if you emailed them and asked. Quite a lot me thinks. As LQ stated above, self awarded I expect

With reference to the OP. Some nice holes on the Kermow but it is like chalk and cheese compared to the Nicklaus. Nowhere near as good and at least 10 times easier.

Probably.

I once saw my V-Easy advertised as 'award winning'.
I never did find out what award it had won :(

It was me, I put a golden star sticker on mine (from an old stationary set). I put on a dinner jacket and bow tie and everything when I awarded it.
