Just come back from an overnighter with 2 days golf at The Manor House, Castle Combe and what an enjoyable two days it was

went with 7 other members of my society, staying in the Waterfall Lodge, a cabin overlooking the 18th green with 4 twin bedrooms

A great value package with dinner and B&B was £125 per head

Course was designed by Peter Alliss & Clive Clark and opened in 1992 and is a beautiful, sometimes stunning place to play golf
There are several spectacular elevated tees Hope the pics below do it justice

I've seen greens with bunkers in them but never one with a cart path through the middle

Played it a few times but not for many years. A few decent holes but too many badly designed ones for my liking.

Used to play there often in my Bowood days... great place for a trip away. Some stunning holes and a couple of oddities. They've changed the order of the holes and added some new tees...

Several years ago, the 9th played as a par 4 from the bottom of the step slope... too tough and blind so made into a par 3. To accommodate this they turned the old 4th (13 now?) from a great par 3 (green fronted by the brook) to a daft uphill par 4.

Great atmosphere around the place and fun to play though... in the early 90s Compton Holdings wanted £15k joining fee.... not too many takers
