That would be it then, problem solved.

The extra shot would be from par 70 to SSS 71

The mystery is over!

Disagree!

Still 27 points - your 6 for 0 gets rounded down to 5 for 0!

Where are the rules boffins when you need 'em? (No doubt waiting in the wings having a right giggle at us amateurs throwing wild accusations around!)

Shot 93.
Minus 14 for handicap = 79
Minus 1 for the treble on the par 3 rounded down = 78
Minus 3 for buffer zone = 75

Still one outside the CSS of 74.

SSS is irrelevant, only CSS.

He actually had 28 points, but that still doesn't answer Stuey01's point

Please explain that one!

He scored a triple bogey on the 10th so scored 0pts, we don't need to be adjusted down as it's a stableford comp anyway, but to go along with your point we'll adjust it down to a double bogey which is 0pts as well, he did score a couple of other triples but they were on shot holes so wouldn't get adjusted down.

It's 28 because he added it up wrong, it was always 28. Nothing to do with the treble rounding down.

It's one outside buffer whichever way you look at it.

I'm going to go and join the boffins on the sidelines now because you guys are confusing yourselves!

edit: just seen the 28 points bit but it's still 1 point away from buffer!

The handicap system doesn't work on stableford points, just strokes played. The nett double rule applies to all qualifying rounds regardless of whether it is stableford or medal.

Depends on the stoke index of the holes he blobbed on. Forget stableford points.

If twire gives us the amount of shots taken less his handicap it should clear things up.

Just to be absolutely clear, stableford adjustment applies only to strokeplay/medal rounds. All handicap adjustments are based on stableford points or the Bogey equivalent

I'm going to join those who say you've missed buffer by one stroke there, so it must be reductions only.

93 strokes minus 14 (handicap) minus 1 (the 6 on the 10th down to a net double) = 78. CSS 74 so you're 1 over buffer
or
33-36pts is buffer if CSS = Par, if CSS = Par + 4 then 29-32pts is buffer. You got 28pts so again, 1 over buffer
