Hi All,

I'm new to this so go easy lol, i'm after some advice for my 13yr old daughter, she loves golf & has been working on her swing for a year, which I was informed I should have got her short game lessons first, not swing, but I dont play myself so I didnt know, now she wants a more structed plan, to get better, she practices an hour before school & around 2hrs after school, I have to drag her away lol, but we a abit all over the place as practice goes, no real plan to follow, can anyone help or know of any websites you can download a session plan from.

Hi Gary,

Has your daughter had proper golf lessons?

I would recommend taking her to see a local golf pro at least once every month or two weeks. To make sure she isn't ingraining any faults into her swing.

What exactly IS she practicing at the moment?

I'd suggest that a local golf instructor would be able to structure proper practice according to her strengths/weaknesses.

A few months ago I attended a 'brain training' seminar at nearby Gleneagles.
The guy recommended setting goals for practice...
For example play Par18 on the practice green: Drop 9 balls around the green and keep score to hole out all nine. Establish a personal best and try to better it each time.
Also with the longer clubs visualise a target (a green or fairway width) and record how many times you hit it from a fixed number of attempts.
This keep practice interesting and adds an element of pressure (like the real game)
Hope this helps
