Luckiest bad shot

One of the guys I played with yesterday sent the ball straight into the hole with a 10 yds pitch shot, no touch on the green at all.

I think that was the luckiest wrong shot I've ever seen as two inches either side of the hole and the ball would have bounced and roll off the green into the opposite bunker.

My luckiest bad shot so far is a big slice drive that hit a tree and ended up 220 yds in the dead centre of the fairway.

I took the wife out for her first ever game last weekend, on the first hole she was nearly hit by a horrendously bad shot, a slice of unfathomable proportions.

I was closer to the muppet than she was and barely heard the feeble "fore" in the wind, she (a further 60 yards away) obviously heard nothing and looked up puzzlingly as it fizzed past her. He bolted down the fairway and was no where to be seen. If it hit her...

Unbeknownst to this idiot that was the luckiest bad shot he ever played.

My mate hits lucky bad shots on just about every round we play.

If he hits his ball into the trees it hits the trunk and comes back onto the fairway, if it's me I lose the ball.

If he hits it into the rough he finds his ball and one or two other good quality balls, if it's me I lose the ball and the last ball I found was a commando if anyone can remember those if I find any.

I pitch to the green and bounce off a sprinkler cover my ball goes into the bunker, his rolls up to the flag.

He has more jam than Robinsons and Hartleys together.

on a society outing a couple of months ago at Kilspindie, on the 2nd hole, Par 5 right on the coast into a biting wind, a lad with us (good golfer) managed to hit his worst shot of the day. It faded in the wind way right of the fairway and we thought we'd never see it again.

Cue 4 bounces, each around 50yds in the air, off the rocks on the shore and then a 5th bounce way left right smack bang in the middle of the fairway again!!!

I will never see anything like that ever again!

At our par 3 second i thinned my iron which skipped over the water, hit the bank up the green flying through the green hit the pin and dropped to 3ft. Popped it in for a 2 :)

Best bad shot i've had.

A pitch from fluffy rough today, Got a bit too much of it - much too much if I'm honest and it looked to be going right over the green. Hit the pin square, nearly dropped in the hole but finished about a foot away.
That's the way to par a hole!

Sounds exactly like my m8 Dave :D

Luckiest I've had was probably yesterday at our Par 3 3rd.

Hole is over a pond with water all front and right and it's about 170 yards, with about 150 carry.

Wind behind yesterday, pin back right, so took a 7i and pulled it about 15 yards left of the green and short. It must have hit the left hand bank of the pond, performed some kind of wall of death trick round the bank, spat the ball out, shot across the green and come to rest 2ft from the flag.

If it was my m8 Dave it would have probably been a hole on one :D

My playing partner in a junior final thinned a tee shot straight at a lake, but hit the bank and rolled up to a foot for the win of a hole!! Jammy was his middle name!!

My best one was a bunker shot I hit yesterday at a Par 3, completely thinned it and it was headed for the other side of the green, until it got caught up in the flag and dropped about 3 feet from the pin. Luckiest Par ever.

A friend of mine badly pulled a 7 iron at a Par 5 on his 3rd shot, it hit a tree and wound up inches from the hole. He obviously made the birdie!!

Played the 17th at Silvermere once by bouncing the ball 3 times off the lake onto the green and had the cheek to hole the birdie putt :D

I was playing the asst pro in a friendly bounce game, matchplay.

Par 5, 140 yards off the green in 2, He had 170 after his massive drive.

I played and thinned an 8 iron, thinking it would be skidding through and off the back I chucked my club back in my bag and started to sulk. Only relaised it had dropped when the guys teeing off the next hole started pointing at the pin and then in a downward motion.

Paul, put a long iron to withing 12ft and dropped the put, Birdied the hole and still lost it.

:D
