Losing weight/fitness thread

Just weighed myself and I'm under 13 stone for the first time in a long while. (12 stone 13) My wife has been heavily reducing carbs, so less potato or pasta with our dinners, and I guess it's had a positive knock-on effect for me. Most nights we've just had chicken or salmon with some stir-fried vegetables. Last night I just made mushroom and spring onion omelettes.

I weighed 19 stone in December 2024. Started on Mounjaro and 14 months later I am down to 12 stones. My target is 11 stone.
A lot of hard work. Diet has completely changed. Almost zero carbs apart from the occasional treat. Gym 4 times a week and swimming 2 twice a week. I now carry my bag with no problem. 14 months ago, I could not play 2 days in a row (with a trolley). I can play 7 days a week if I want. My wardrobe has been completely changed as you can imagine.
I bought a Gore-Tex top from eBay a few years ago, and it did not fit as it was too small. I kept it, and now it does not fit as it is too big:)

Your determintation gives me hope. I still have about 6 pairs of trousers in the cupboard that are too tights, but I'm not throwing away in case I ever shed a bit of weight.

Diet is huge, and for me is the hardest bit to deal with. But I do believe you still need your treat days, to make it in any way sustainable. I just need to start reducing my treat days from 7 days a week.

I weighed myself this morning - 11st 11lbs

I have set myself a target of losing 4 lbs over the next three months. 11st 7lbs or 73kg.
That is the weight I was last August when I was applying for annuity quotes.
I'm in charge of all meal preparation so I have no excuse.

Hope the course dries out soon so that I can get out there more than once a week rather than the once a month which it has been for the last 3 months.

Bravo sir 👏

For those that have read my ramblings about my desire to do a sub 2 hour half marathon, and not being able to do it in probably about 11 attempts...well I've only gone and done it!!!!

Set out to do 8 miles and after a few reroutes I'd got to round the corner from my house at 10.5 miles in 1:30, some quick maths and I knew I could do the last 2.6 miles easily in under 30 mins, finishing up in 1hr 56mins 56 seconds.

No water, no gels, no tablets.......no creme eggs, just Gareth Bale on The Overlap and vibes. Buzzing.

Brilliant mate. 👏👏👏 you’d of broke 1hr 55 mins with a cream egg en route.😂😂

3 miles last night in 25 minutes and 4.5 miles tonight in 40 minutes.
Going back to work on the 15th March, going to be a real struggle getting miles in 🤬🤬
Think I’ll be changing tact back to weights.

This mornings plyo work has my shins on fire this evening 12 hrs later 🤣

In other news, Physio and Dr finally referred me to Stanford Hall for full rehab of my shoulder. Small mercies hopefully the end is in sight after nearly 6 months of this irritation.
Is your rehab free….
Normally a costly process, saying that I’d rather pay and get it sorted than not.
