Another weights session today, just 40 minutes, but there was no hanging about, just got right after it
Same forecast for up here, temp meant to be 10 degrees on tuesday!I can hear it chucking it down outside, hopefully that gets rid of the ice and I can start again properly tomorrow.
Crazy isn't it. I'll be back in shorts and t-shirt. I had leggings and base layer on last week.Same forecast for up here, temp meant to be 10 degrees on tuesday!![]()
Been keeping an eye on it for next weekend, 9-10 for next 2 days then settles around 6-7 for rest of week, I’ll take that for Jan.Crazy isn't it. I'll be back in shorts and t-shirt. I had leggings and base layer on last week.
I'm down about 4lbs in the last week, which I'm happy with after eating much better and getting some proper exercise in (aside from walking the dogs each day)....Week 1 down of healthy eating/gym etc. food was 90% good, 3 gym sessions last week, would have ideally liked 4 but nevermind.
Not jumped on the scales yet but can feel a difference.
Onwards
Why fluids are you drinking?I'm down about 4lbs in the last week, which I'm happy with after eating much better and getting some proper exercise in (aside from walking the dogs each day)....
yet I had the 1st migraine I've had in forever last night...and felt a bit groggy all week. I wonder whether it's my body adjusting to actually being "better" - but I've certainly not felt better or had more energy etc (that I've noticed at least)
I have a singular coffee most mornings (made with fresh beans at home)Why fluids are you drinking?
My wife suffered badly with them and they seem to occurr when she gets dehydrated, hopefully it was no more than a delayed reaction for you or as you’ve upped your activities again you need to increase your water intake.I have a singular coffee most mornings (made with fresh beans at home)
then mostly water (at least 2 litres) and I've started drinking electrolytes once a day too as I'm prone to headaches/dehydration.
I'm wondering whether tiredness and not having an electrolyte drink post-gym (as I felt fine - usually I can tell if I'm dehydrating) ended up being a delayed reaction/migraine yesterday.
I'll occasionally have a sugar-free soft drink too (specifically Pepsi max cherry) but that's like a once or twice a month thing.
Yea, hopefully! Doesn't help that I stay up later than I should - definitely need to be better with my sleep. My wife suffered badly with them and they seem to occurr when she gets dehydrated, hopefully it was no more than a delayed reaction for you or as you’ve upped your activities again you need to increase your water intake.
How’s the Hamstring in general. Could be several reasons for that, tight glutes, tight lower back etc. it was always explained to me often hamstring pain is often caused by other weaknesses. When I had an issue with mine years ago turned out to be originating from having tight hip flexors causing over exertion in the hammies. That’s why I now focus on specific strength and stretch exercises for my hip flexors. Not saying that’s the cause of yours it could well just be the hamstring but could be worth looking into where the imbalance is that’s causing it.Out last night while youngest was at Cubs, run cut short at 3.2 miles as my legs just wouldn’t work, goodness knows what was up there.
Up at 4 this morning and away out again at 04:55, going along great until mile 5 when my hamstring was in agony and basically had to stop and walk the last 2 miles home
Just can’t get going for one reason or another at the moment.
Never had an issue before, but my right groin has been painful recently and now the hamstring, the consensus online is to keep on going, just at a slower pace, might get a set of compression shorts and see if they help. How’s the Hamstring in general. As for my own fitness it’s taken a kicking I’ve not trained for 5 days now, this bug has done so much damage in that time to the progress of been making. I can’t even go for a pee without needing a sit down![]()
Sounds very similar to mine the a tight/painful groin (hip flexor) can lead to the hamstring over working to compensate. Make sure your stretching the groin and doing some light strengthening exercises for it and warm that area up properly before runs or it’ll put you out for a while.Never had an issue before, but my right groin has been painful recently and now the hamstring, the consensus online is to keep on going, just at a slower pace, might get a set of compression shorts and see if they help.
