Losing weight/fitness thread

Crazy isn't it. I'll be back in shorts and t-shirt. I had leggings and base layer on last week.
Been keeping an eye on it for next weekend, 9-10 for next 2 days then settles around 6-7 for rest of week, I’ll take that for Jan.

Don’t fancy doing the 1/2 Marathon in too many layers.😬

Went down to the new JD Gym that opened recently. We got two months membership for £28 quid or something, so I thought why not....1st time I've been as really 1st chance I've had (even though it's been open nearly a month!)....Sat night at 8pm - more people in there than I predicted, but was still pretty quiet. Lovely gym too.

Didn't push it as didn't want to end up not being able to move on Sunday, but nice little shoulder and core workout. Was all going swimmingly until I left, got to the car and realised I'd left my car keys on the treadmill after my warm up... No problem, thought I, I'll pop back in and grab them as I'm sure they're still there.

Only, there's a time delay in letting anyone back in (presumably for security or some such reason) - so there's me, stood in the lobby for 10 mins like a lemon until I could generate a new QR code to be let in. 🫠

Week 1 down of healthy eating/gym etc. food was 90% good, 3 gym sessions last week, would have ideally liked 4 but nevermind.

Not jumped on the scales yet but can feel a difference.

Onwards
I'm down about 4lbs in the last week, which I'm happy with after eating much better and getting some proper exercise in (aside from walking the dogs each day)....

yet I had the 1st migraine I've had in forever last night...and felt a bit groggy all week. I wonder whether it's my body adjusting to actually being "better" - but I've certainly not felt better or had more energy etc (that I've noticed at least)

Why fluids are you drinking?

I have a singular coffee most mornings (made with fresh beans at home)

then mostly water (at least 2 litres) and I've started drinking electrolytes once a day too as I'm prone to headaches/dehydration.

I'm wondering whether tiredness and not having an electrolyte drink post-gym (as I felt fine - usually I can tell if I'm dehydrating) ended up being a delayed reaction/migraine yesterday.

I'll occasionally have a sugar-free soft drink too (specifically Pepsi max cherry) but that's like a once or twice a month thing.

My wife suffered badly with them and they seem to occurr when she gets dehydrated, hopefully it was no more than a delayed reaction for you or as you’ve upped your activities again you need to increase your water intake.

Yea, hopefully! Doesn't help that I stay up later than I should - definitely need to be better with my sleep.

Was going to swim today but sacked it off as a precaution, back to it tomorrow!

So had my first weigh in at the gym, since starting the gyms 6 week Fat loss program they run every year in January. The people who put in for it are put into teams each lead by one of the coach's. So I was pleasantly surprised to have dropped 4kg in the week, I'm assuming a lot is water but 1.5% Body Fat reduction. Started at 103kg hoping if I can get to 95kg will be a solid effort any more a massive bonus.

Last year I lost 13kg in 8 weeks doing it, although they've simplified and shortened it this year. All about building habits and then sticking to them afterwards.
