That reminds me of something that my daughter told me

She did the Kilimanjaro walk.
There was one girl who had done absolutely no training for it, that girl did not get very far before giving up.

The charity event tomorrow has the option to walk or run it, due to the diet I initially opted to walk as my energy levels haven’t really been up there. But for me if you’re doing a charity event, specially a run, you have to put yourself through some pain as long as it’s all for a good cause. I changed my mind last week and opted to run instead 🏃 I’ll be fine 🤦🏻🤣

Adrenaline will get you through a lot of that, anytime I'm doing a race, I'm usually 1 min faster than my usual pace and have to force myself to slow down or I won't be seeing the finishing line.

My only worry, I was doing some sprint interval training on Monday and my hamstrings still feel a little bit tender. Run starts at 10am, I’m predicting getting snipered with cramp by 10.45 😬

Plenty of water beforehand then, I did the Great North run one year and was bent over after 11 miles, I'd hardly drank any.
 
Just had an appointment with the pre diabetic nurse. I'm on the cusp of so I'm watching my diet, another blood test in 3 months.
She gave me a diet sheet and one thing that stood out was to eat for breakfast, berries strawberries, raspberries and blue berries, but with full fat youghurt!
I also have high cholesterol, which is controlled with statins ( level is around 4)
All the diet sheets say avoid high fats.
I mentioned all this to my younger step daughter who is a Practice Nurse and runs a diabetic clinic. Actually, she couldn't give me a definitive answer!
But she did say that she recommends to all her patients to get a book called "Carbs vs Cows". It's meant to be very good and will be on my bookshelf very soon.
 
Light session and then an hour with a PT with the sole focus being rehab and strength on the left knee. 30 min assessment and a 30min practical and I’m hanging. Complete revision on macro’s too as I’m way under on protein intake.

2 weeks in and 6lbs off already with the first mile stone being 12lbs away which is the target by Christmas.

I get the impression the leg days are going to be killers going forward.

There has been research to show full fat dairy doesn't add to risk of type 2 diabetes and other similar diseases. So on that basis the full fat will keep you fuller longer, although will have more calories. https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(18)31812-9/abstract

Can you get check the title of the book please? Just googled “Carbs v Cows” and looked on Amazon and found nothing.👍🏻

That's a lot of sugar with all that fruit. Also, so much low fat stuff is full of crap ingredients.

Diet sheet says fruit is trickier. Tropical fruits like bananas, oranges, grapes, mangoes or pineapples have too much sugar. But berries can be eaten.
I think it's more a case of the old adage, "Everything in moderation".

Saw a post on which fruit to avoid when trying to limit sugars and banana was the one they mentioned. I didn't realise at all!!
