Losing weight/fitness thread

The night battles proving harder than expected still

I woke up at 1330 yesterday, didn't want to be up until 1600 and made the mistake of getting up. So extra tired.

Had dinner with the wife 1900 after kids bed. Got in my car 1930.. by 2000 I was hungry and reached my lunch and grabbed my fridge raiders.

By 2330 I had my dinner thinking right dinner will help, keep me out the shop .

Starving at 0230. Colleague off to McDonald's, go on grab me a cheeseburger and chips. No chips (madness but thought that would help) still hungry

Determined not to smash the crisps I drove to the petrol garage, grabbed a loaf of bread made myself toast

Positive is now I have a loaf of bread for the rest of the week for when this happens again tomorrow and Wednesday.

I knew nights would be the hardest but didn't think it would be this hard

(On another positive since having the toast I actually feel full up.. even with tonight's fun and games this "24 hour period" is 2375 calories, on a goal worked out by the app of 2310 cals a day so it's not a complete loss)

Do you smoke? If not give it a try, don't do cigs go straight to cigars, it'll really help with the hunger pangs plus all the other advantages :p

What did you have to eat before you left for work? Sounds like you need volume of food to keep you full but healthy volume as in a massive salad alongside your meal. I made myself a chicken pasta salad last night that was a decent size lunch and probably 500 calories made with my own sauce made from greek yoghurt, lemon juice, light mayo, bit of of piri piri sauce, salt and pepper. So easy.

It is difficult to not reach for the sweet stuff or junk, been there, done/do that. Water does help.

We had pasta and meatballs last night. Prob not enough pasta.

Every cloud tho one the kids woke up sick so I've had to take leave and finish my nights early. That will ensure no snacking today 😂

My coach has set my calorie limit for a day at 2050 calories. I'm reasonably active, run 3 times a week (slowly building distance), gym 2 times a week, at least 1 walk and 2 rounds of golf.

Surprised 2310 is going to achieve much weight lose, looks more like a maintenance value to keep weight stable.

I've just updated the goal weight (it was set to 110kg)

It's dropped the intake to 2240

I've only updated it to that because the 110kg could be here by march at the rate it's been going 😂

Im guessing your goal is a lot lot lower kg

Are you staying hydrated? I drink at least 2 litres of water a day. Downside to that is i wee like a racehorse lol.

The best piece of advice i ever got was when im feeling hungry to drink a pint of water instead of reaching to the fridge or cupboard. It stops the urge to eat.

I find nights I drink a lot less because otherwise I can't sleep during day as I'm always up weeing lol however this week has been one the worst in the sense I got a cold and every drink tastes disgusting (even water leaving a foul taste) weirdly food is completely fine taste wise

Try hot blackcurrant - so squash with hot water. Only thing I can drink when I'm unwell with a bug of any sort.

I started at 2200 calories until week 4 when we dropped them.

It's a 8 week fat loss accelerator program at the gym. About 50 off us doing it across 3 teams.
So works on building habits, first week meal planning, online shop. Second week about how to get your required protein intake. Third week sticking to calorie target +/- 50 calories.
Last week was finding ways to increase our daily step count. This week is about MEP's the points you get from your MyZone belts we use.

More than likely it will be too many carbs and not enough protein.

Yeah that was dry pasta , I made sure to select it

I do never find any pasta dish filling tho
Pasta is vile unless its drenched in a creamy/cheese sauce with a good glug of chilli oil mixed in for good measure but no good for losing weight lol.

Sweet potato is my preferred choice these days.

Two runs so far this week, club run about 7.5 miles averaged 10 minute miles.
Interval last night 2 x 1 mile intervals at 8:42 minute mile which I was within about 3 seconds either way.

Beginning to enjoy it again after a awful year last year. Hope to get back to my 2023 me, with a sub 50 10k and a sub 2 hour half. Then also want to get my first marathon out of the way.

My 97 day streak of walking in excess of 10,000 steps has ended. A crazy day at work with no break or lunch meant I got home really late. Typically, Boro match on tv so only had chance for a 45 minute walk with the dog. Will be well over 10k a day on my weekly average but was hoping to do a full year. Frustrating as I did a weight session this morning and if I’d known work was going to pan out the way it did I’d have got the steps in this morning.

97 days is brilliant. Being a dog owner really helps. I got a dog in August and I've really upped my walks.

My average is 16,422 . I'd say the dog is a major factor in this number.
