Losing weight/fitness thread

Well somehow my legs feel fine 🤣
Annoying thing happened at the weekend though, I nipped into the local micro pub for a pint and someone was in I’d not seen in a while so obviously my weight loss got mentioned. The lady behind the bar spurted out she thought I looked ill then a good friend said he thought I looked healthier when I was heavier 😳
I’m putting it down to the fact I’ve always been a few stones overweight in the 9 years I’ve lived there so that’s all they’ve known.
For me, I’ve never felt fitter and healthier although the 6 pack isn’t there yet 🤣🤣🤣

I got so much of this
the ones I saw every week see the diet, the ones I see once a month (or less) thought i was seriously ill

Being overweight has been completely normalised over the years. It's obviously a complicated topic to talk about, but I'm not sure that our currsnt approach is helpful.
I'm just about the centre line for "normal' bmi, but I'm sure most people would think of me as skinny/thin (6ft 75kg).

Agreed 100%. Some of the comments can also stem from jealousy. I've never understood how it's acceptable to call someone skinny, but not fat!

I was going to comment this but you beat me to it. I've had big people tell me stop losing weight as I look gaunt (I don't, just haven't got 3 chins), always thought there was touch of the green eyed monster in there.

Weights today.

Dumbbell Bench Press - 3 Sets
Dumbbell Incline Bench Press - 3 Sets
Cable Crossover - 4 Sets
Bent Bar Tricep Pulldown - 5 Sets
Overhead Tricep Extension - 3 Sets

Another good workout.
Plan is a Run tomorrow, then legs at the gym on Thursday night.

First CrossFit induction session. Lots of work on front squats - legs feeling it now. Then a 5 minute baseline test. Cycle on the erg for 36 calories then as many burpees as you can in the remaining time. Who knew I could do 26 burpees. Knackered!!

Think so, it looked like a hybrid thing, the film is called Shot Caller and was actually much better than I anticipated.

I've entered the CrossFit Open as the gym I have started with are really focussing on that. There is a beginners section where the workouts are scaled. Last year the first WOD (of 3 over consecutive weeks) was 19 one arm snatches, 19 burpees, 19 one arm snatches, 19 burpees, then 15, 15, 15, 15 then 9, 9, 9, 9. My maths says that's 86 burpees...yikes!

Oh and the female dumbbell weight was 15kg for the snatch. Flipping heck. The scaled version was the same but a 7.5kg weight.

I might be in a bad way :-)
