2007 for me also, I remember organising the first meet at Blairgowrie, in Feb 08 I think and on the one good day we had that month as rest of it was frost bound. Like others my wife found it weird that I was off to play with my people I'd never met and only communicated with through the Internet.

Been on many meets after that first one, met some great guys and played some fantastic courses along the way.

Last years highland weekend was spectacular, weather was fantastic, great courses and good craic, looking forward to playing a few more this year.

I joined in Oct '08. Had just trudged wearily off of Copthorne Golf Club in Sussex, it had been really wet, windy and muddy, I was knackered and fed up with carrying.
I carried out an internet search for an electric trolley. "GoKart" came up and I was directed to a discussion on here, so I joined.
Shortly after, I organised my first "forum meet" which was at Old Thorns in Hampshire.
Murph, Flandango and Leftie came down and we endured possibly the worst weather you could imagine!
I can't remember Flandango's real name, but I think he gave up golf shortly after that!
Have organised lots of things since then, North v South at Forest Pines, Old farts v Whippersnappers at Woodhall Spa, Inter forum (GM v Golf Magic) at Whittington Heath, which included the round at Beau Desert where I first met Bobmac and a couple of others and a couple of meets at The Addington.
I've met some really nice guys since I've been a member here, some of them becoming really good friends, friends for life.
I don't play anywhere near the amount of golf I did when I first joined, getting older and my game is suffering for it, but I still enjoy the banter when we all do meet up.

Been around here for three years or so, not been to any meets but reckon I have a half decent excuse, I have met the odd forum member when they've been out here

Actually tried another golf forum for a couple of weeks before this one but packed it in when I realised it was just me online!

You just don't try do you..!

March '08 for me.
First meet was the first Spring bash at Homer's place...played with Midnight and some guy from the Harleyford who disappeared as quickly as he arrived - 4-5 posts I think..
Always look forward to the H4H meets and hoping to do a few more but time and work frequently get in the way.
Oh..and it was nice being on top of the posting list for a couple of weeks over Christmas..

Couldn't agree more, I popped my forum cherry at Blairgowrie all be it in a joint meet with the HDID lot having joined here Dec 2011.

Been to 2 Machrihanish overnighters and the Highland one last year which was excellent.

A hardy crew to open the weekend

Played 3 open venues with forumers, played some cracking courses in the NW which led me to joining one.

Lots of golf planned this year, a couple of good meets early on at Glasgow Gailes and Alwoodley with the National final again at Hillside which hopefully will be superd, we have the NW OOM also which has been absolutely superb the last 2 years and looks to be going the same way this year. I've already booked to play Royal Birkdale with a couple of forumers too this year.

I've met some top people who have become firm friends over the last few years and long may it continue.

I joined November 2009 and I remember looking at Homers post count at the time and it was about 10,000.
I am on 4500 odd and he's just past 40k.
I spend hours sometimes just browsing without posting and it gets addictive.
I have disagreements with others as we are human and opinions divide us,however I have made some good friends and really enjoy all the meets I go to and to be honest I enjoy them more than my other golf.
I'm even bringing my dad to a couple of meets this year before he's past it.
HFH is my favorite and such a great charity just wish I was richer and could offer more.
I also enjoy organising the Southwest meet would be nice to get some more traveling south as there are some good courses.
If I had more time and money I would travel more for golf and would love to visit Scotland one day.
Here's to some more forum happy times.

Well said.
