Lol. Aye. Good times, Steve. :)

I'll really need to get to something again this year. Can't believe where the time's gone but my last forum meet was as captain when Scotland trounced/gubbed/battered England 20-12 at Goswick in October 2011. Think the fantastic Captain's picks on day one really sealed it.

Found the old video. What a great two days.

Hopefully more to come.

You got off to a lucky start on day one. It was probably the travelling and the language barrier that did us.

We were the better hang over golfers though on day two!

Welcome back. Nice to here from you again!

Been here since 2007. My first forum meet was to make up the numbers at the Yorkshire v Lancashire match that Big organised. The best meets were still the England v Scotland weekends at Goswick.

I remember rightly, the first Forum fitting opportunity was for a ping G10

I have only just started reading again recently (not enough time / was not keen on the new format)
Little one is now 2 1/2 so hoping to play a bit more this year (hardly played at all the last couple of years)
Have had some great times on the forum most notably at Goswick (although I did take a little bit of stick off Phil the scouser lol) and I played in the first H4H day at Luton Hoo.

Sometimes it's good to look back. I've enjoyed the thread this evening and although I didn't take part in the Scotland England matches it was great to watch the video again - thanks to JFindlay's efforts.

I always enjoy watching the video with the background music from Coldplay. In fact, every time I hear that track it always reminds me of the Scotland England meet.

Good stuff!

I joined November 2009 and I remember looking at Homers post count at the time and it was about 10,000.
I am on 4500 odd and he's just past 40k.
I spend hours sometimes just browsing without posting and it gets addictive.
I have disagreements with others as we are human and opinions divide us,however I have made some good friends and really enjoy all the meets I go to and to be honest I enjoy them more than my other golf.
I'm even bringing my dad to a couple of meets this year before he's past it.
HFH is my favorite and such a great charity just wish I was richer and could offer more.
I also enjoy organising the Southwest meet would be nice to get some more traveling south as there are some good courses.
If I had more time and money I would travel more for golf and would love to visit Scotland one day.
Here's to some more forum happy times.

I think this sums up the forum to me. We all talk rubbish on the forum, but where ever you go, you meet up with fellow idiots from here, and the instant friendship, acceptance, generosity, etc, is brilliant. I've travelled all over, and met guys off the forum, and found friends for life. It's been fantastic.

Long may it continue.

I remember my first meet, I think it was Redlibbitts. I turned up not knowing anyone, felt a little nervous and have since played in loads of forum meets and loved everyone and have met some truly smashing people.

It's great to meet and play with people who you feel you know but you don't really know, but after 18 holes and some food you'd definitely play with them again! Come first or last I've always driven home, sometimes many miles , happy to have put my name down

Feb 2009 for me and my first meet was at Beau Desert. That was the day I played with Vig, TonyN, Rob and when I first met Smiffy. I've never been the same since. :)

That meet was probably my first as well. IIRC I played with Craphacker and the host that day - Auburnwarrior?

I echo everyone's comments about how much of a pleasure it is to meet and play with fellow forummers up and down the country on different tracks.

I can honestly say that I havent played with anyone yet that I wouldnt want to play with again.

Looking forward to more of the same this year, hopefully will get to play with some different forum legends, still quite a few to chalk off.:D
