longest run of 0.1's?

Played 7 competitive rounds this year had 6 x0.1s back but had 1 cut of 0.2 to leave me at 8.4 now! Not what I put all that winter work in for!

The one cut I did have was at an away course! Need to get practising.

I've had 8 .1's in a row, not hit buffer since March, yet in matchplay comps i've shot well below handicap in all but one of 9 games and i was level par gross when i shook hands on the 16th in my last game............go figure ?

Surely the score is everything? I would rather play like a donkey and have a decent score. It's not how it's how many that matters.
Funny you should put that as that's how my game is but I want to play well and score well. Not to much to ask for once a year lol. I hate scrubbing it round and scoring well.

currently at 13 interspersed with 4 buffers - I suck :p

so can anyone better that?

I'm at 12 in a row with 1 buffer

5.5 - 6.7 :p

By Sunday night I should be ahead of you!!:angry::p

Rosecott is going to be hard to beat... I reckon I'll FLUKE a cut with my eyes closed before getting that bad!!! ;)

j/k Jim, hope the finger has healed??

How does 30 0.1s since Feb 2011 sound? Ok, there's been three teeny weeny cuts amongst it but there's x2 runs of 13 in there. My H/C chart looks like the route map for the Col du Tourmalet stage of Tour De France. Except they come down the other side.

I am afraid to say, you are all amateurs. From April 2009 until April 2013 I went up 5.4. When I read this thread, I thought I must win this dubious title and I am afraid I am probably correct. Having looked through it, from Sept 2009 to July 2010 I amassed 9 straight 0.1's, but from October 2010 to July 2012 I managed 19 straight 0.1's without a buffer! My humiliation is now complete.
All due to a strong grip that took nearly 2 years to cure, once I found the cause of the problem. Simple as that. This year I have reversed the process somewhat and managed to get cut 3.6 of the 5.4 I went up. Only 1.8 to go.

I quit golf in 2001 and came back in late 2008, since then I've played only 13 comps of which 12 were 0.1's and the other was a buffer... so technically I haven't been cut for 12½yrs :whoo:

(and counting...)

Joined Shooters Hill in September on 4.6 and heading in the right direction have since played 20 competitive rounds and my handicap is now................... 6.6! First time I've ever gone up a shot without coming straight back down soon after let alone going up 2 shots!

Last year after going from 19.0 to 12.0 in less than a month with the final push being an ESR of 2 shots i took myself off to watch the euros in poland.

I slept in a tent for 2 weeks and had the odd beer or two. Came back unable to swing a club.

Then started a run of 18 +0.1s in 20 rounds to finish the season followed by another 4 +0.1s to start this season to get me up to 14.2

Back down to 12.2 now so theres a good ending to the story....

This is a feel good thread if ever I saw one - I have dropped back 10 x 0.1's this year from an initial cut but have had a few buffers in there also to keep me sane.

Always the same - some really great rounds in between including getting to a knockout semi final(playing that next week) but then loosing any kind of form I have when I have a handicap card in my hand.

I have been hitting the practice green and range a lot the last couple of weeks and just come off two great rounds last weekend so feeling good about my game again - which means its likely to be a 0.1 back this weekend as its a comp!!

Fingers crossed anyway.

Currently on a run of 15 consecutive 0.1's, started the year on 5.0 and now 6.5 not a buffer in sight and certainly not a cut!

Seriously depressing, got to the stage where I am now withdrawing from all competitions that I've entered, including a week in St Andrews next month.

I went from 1977 to 2008 without a handicap cut.:( probably 'only' about 50 competitive rounds, but not bad in years. Went from 6 to 13.
