Grand Slam Winner
Smacked my 5 iron 350 yards today. This is my longest golf shot ever, by about 40 yards.
Playing our 18th, a par 5. I have driven to leave about 250 (scabby drive, but safe). So I could either lay up, or go for the green with the 5wood (slightly down hill, right to left, should suit me).
Thinking of percentage play, I figure rip a 5i down there into prime shanking territory, and see what's left.
But, no draw. none. zilch.
Great strike though. Ball sails away, off to the right. Hits the road to the practice ground, and bounces 5 times down the road before disappearing through the gate into the car park. Eventually find it at the back of the car park, approximately 100 yards past the pin.
So for all those who think they hit their driver 300 plus, pah, I hit my 5 iron further than that.
