thought i would share a small bit of hope, wee brother has been in hospital the last six weeks with liver failure. monday night 8pm my sister suggested me and my mother come and see him (just incase) travelled 90 miles. didnt look good he is sedated and recovering from bowel removal. he has lost or got through 20 pints of blood tuesday not good tuesday night today stable. i will admit on tuesday after being there all day i had said my goodbyes to him!!!!!!!!!!! we were talking about turning things off etc. tonight phonecall he will be operated on tomorow morning a suitable liver is available. its his only chance of survival. so we are all on a wee high and just hope he can get strong for this. im not religious but will be saying a wee prayer before bed tonight. still know he has a long way to go but its a start.
so everyone please have a we think about things and get yourself giving blood and donating your organs when you leave to play on the big golf course upstairs.

thats really good news. i hope all goes well and the transplant takes and he starts to make a recovery.
Im on the donar register signed up a few years ago now i worked on the principal i wont need them so may as well give them away.
Best of luck to your brother and thoughts go to the whole family. keep us updated

Truly touching. Fingers crossed for all of you, but especially your little brother.

Just puts everything into perspective when you hear of things like this.

I will keep giving the red stuff; `O` neg so anyone can have mine.

Not religious, but will certainly be hoping your god is a good and kind one.

cheers boys as i said its a small bit of hope but we will take it. for anyone who hasnt given blood (i havent yet but will next week) google it and find when and where you can in your area. think it says that 96% of us dont!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Goodness, must be very tough times for him, you and the whole family. Hopefully everything goes well for him in the op and the after op care. Best wishes to him and your family.
