There's us getting all worked up because we cant get a little white (mostly) ball into a little hole in fewer strokes
Then you read a post like this , and you kinda think how lucky we are to have our health.

Hope it all goes well

My best mate had a kidney and pancreas transplant two years ago and it has given him back his life.

Hope everyone on here who can, carries a donor card.

Best of luck to your brother and all your family.

I was not going to reply to this post. Found it to upsetting as had first hand experiance with a mate. But things did turn out ok,ish for him as long as he takes care. So keep your chin up. Good luck for the op. Will be thinking of you all.

That was a tough post to read and I actually said out loud in the office "Oh my God, poor soul!"

Words arent enough from strangers on a forum but I seriously hope it goes well, what a horrendous time for your brother and his poor mum and you.

Good luck today, if it helps tell him the GM forum are all rooting for him.

Puts it all into perspective.

Really really hope all goes well for your brother. I'm sure with all the medical experts and his family love and support, he will pull through.

Certainly puts everything in perspective.

Sincere best wishes.

Chris.

Good luck to your brother, and spare a thought for the donor and their family whose tragedy has provided your hope.

yerman we are so gratefull that some who has died has donated their liver. im getting all my relatives to carry a card and register. my brother is 35 year old and has a disease called PSC and ulcerative colitis. it was always on the cards that he would require a liver.

my brother has survived the transplant. we are waiting for his body to take the new liver on. Positive Thinking required over the next few days. we are all buzzing as tuesday i thought he was a going. toatally got more respect for the NHS at all levels. even the nurses are talking to him when he is under telling him to fight this and cracking jokes. he has been twitching a response at the better jokes. tried to talk the nurse into leaving him a handlebar moustache but she wouldnt do it. there are MILLIONS of UK Residents who are not on the donor cards, so come on folks

Great news that he's pulled through the op and thinking of him, you and your family and hoping for a full recovery and return to health...

Homer has expressed my thaughts far better than I can manage.

Steady on - don't want to be starting that sort of rumour that I am actually posting something of worth. Have to be honest that working in the NHS over the last 4 years and dealing a lot with the renal units it makes you really appreciative of what you had.

I had a chronic problem with my pancreas and it could have been game over had the situation been left much longer but everyone from the GP who rushed out to see me, the ambulance crew, everyone in ICU and the wards over my 3 1/2 week stay were brilliant. I got diabetes as a consolation prize but thats small fry compared to the OP. If you don't carry a donor card have a look in the mirror tonight and ask what would you want to happen if it was your dad, brother, or son
